“Beware the stairs”

We stayed for 4 nights (Mon - Fri). We ate out every night but the food we saw looked ok. However beware. Our room was on the third floor with no steps, beware if stairs give you a problem.

“Great location”

Just a block from the central rail station in Cologne, next to a couple of Internet cafes and convenient fast food stops, and only two blocks from the Cologne "Dom," this hotel offered very friendly service and inexpensive lodging. Our room was off the street and very quiet. An optional breakfast was ample and included both hot and cold foods for the price. Given a recent rise in the exchange rate between the Euro and the U.S. dollar, this location was a bargain!

“BEST PLACE TO STAY IN COLOGNE”

I highly recommend this place to anyone who is traveling to this city. The train station is less than 1/4 mile (you do not need a taxi to this hotel), the Dom church is right around the corner. Breakfast was a traditional European breakfast, but if you don't want to have it included you can find other places outside the hotel that is just as good and cheaper. There is so much to do in this city, but I recommend you take the city tour bus on your first full day to give you a good idea where to walk around or just to see the area and get the history of the city. The staff was very friendly. The place was clean too. The price was reasonable because the hotel is right in the middle of the city.

“Very central location”

The room was small but it was clean and, best of all, it had tea making facilities. The hotel is situated in a square where the nightlife was quite noisy but it didn't keep me awake - although the cathedral clock striking woke me at 7 am. The bed was comfortable and the small bathroom was clean and functional. As a place to stay for the night it was exactly what we needed - cheap, basic, clean, comfortable accommodation. The buffet breakfast had an extensive range of choices, no doubt to suit all the many nationalities who were staying there.

such a short walk from the main train station and tram system. so close to the dom and touristy places too, including good restaurants. and close to the symphony/river too. great location. very clean, friendly staff.

Rooms are small but immaculate and comfy; staff friendly and helpful; steps from train station, river, cathedral and easy access from airport - Enjoy!

“Our stay in Cologne”

The hotel was so near to the centre of Cologne, easy walk of station , Dom and shops,no more than five minutes. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, efficient service. The en-suite got a bit warm as we don't think the extractors worked but we didn't complain as we weren't in them that long.We had two rooms at the top of building-serviced by lift- and at the end of corridor where our young grand daughter could happily run from one to the other. One room had a safe in the wardrobe-which was very handy. Both rooms had a drinks chiller which we used to keep our water and other foods. We did not eat in the hotel as there were sufficient places to eat very close by, including the station and McDonalds. Overall ideal as a convenient base to explore the area. As it is on a main road it can be noisy especially late at night but we had the windows open during all our stay and were not unduly disturbed by the noise. Would have no hesitation in staying again and hope to do so in the future.

Room was clean and comfortable. Was not impressed with kitchen facilities. Staff were polite but was not impressed when our room number was bellowed out in front of other (male) guests booking in as we were two females travelling alone.
