Great location and friendly service.
The reception was excellent and very helpful, and there are many things very good - nice linens and pillows (bed was a bit firm for my taste, but not bad at all), very clean, good breakfast, great location. However, we had a weird room. I didn’t realize I was booking a suite. It has stairs inside the room between where the bath and bedroom is (which is in the pictures), but it also has a toilet room that is very awkward to use as you have to sit under a sink! That was not in the pictures. I think their regular rooms are better. Also - we were there on the weekend and there are 2 very loud bars next door. Bring earplugs (I always have some so it wasn’t a problem for me).

I had a wonderful 4-night stay in September. The staff at the desk and breakfast room could not have been kinder. The location is close to the train station, the river, and many wonderful restaurants. Our room was very clean.

Excellent quality & service!
I was very pleased with the excellent service at the Hotel and the room I got. It's at a very convenient location, within a few minutes from the Riverfront, the main shopping area, the Cathedral and the Central train station.

Great stay
Very nice stay. Highlights: the bathroom with nice shower and very clean, breakfast buffet with meats/cheeses/tea/coffee etc, fluffy pillow and memory foam pillow for options, fan to stay cool because no AC.

GOOD CHOICE IN KOLN
location very much convenient, everything within walking distance. a little bit noisy during evening, there is a bar next door with loud music/voices late at niight.

On Friday and Saturday it can be a bit noisy because of music and the tourism - but because of the excellent location in the Old Town of Cologne you can't avoid it completely. We viisted this hotel to go to the Cologne Christmas Markets. It's ideally placed just behind the Dom and an easy walk from the station. It was an absolute delight. We had an excellent suite (quite unexpected), very comfortable, splendid breakfast spread. It doesn't have it's own restaurant but there is a huge choice down beside the river. Top marks.

Accessible to everything in Cologne
Perfect location walking distance from the main train station , beside all the major museums and landmarks and for the Christmas markets. The hotel is clean, warm and managed by friendly efficient staff. Our room had a separate sitting room which could double a another bedroom if needed. We didn't eat there because there were so many great coffee houses and restaurants nearby. I will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

I booked double room for single use. It’s spacious and comfy. It would be better if a kettle with tea and coffee are provided. Mind you that there’s a pub next to the hotel. It was extremely noisy especially during weekends. The strong music would not stop until 1am!

I reported in the beginning that it was too hot in the room and the hotel immediately wanted to help me solve the problem. Staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms are quite tiny however and the bathrooms aren't very nice with the plastic shelling. All in all though a great hotel at a great location. The windows are amazingly sound proof so don't worry about noise from the street.

Nice small hotel just off the Rhine in Cologne. They made efficient use of a small space with well planned bathroom and furnishings. Only issue was it was near a noisy restaurant and to keep the unairconditioned space cool the windows needed to be open and hence lots of noise at night from the restaurant and early morning from trash collection.

Such a disappointment overall
This hotel was booked for its location to the train station and the Christmas Markets. Our decision was swayed by the price and the pictures of the hotel rooms looked great. It looked like you got a lot for your money On arrival into Cologne, it only took 10 mins to walk with suitcases from the train station to the hotel, this was a great start for the holiday. On arrival we were greated by a lovely lady behind a very small reception, which was fine as we were the only guests in reception, any more than 4 people in reception and you would be falling over each other. Language was not a problem because the reception lady spoke perfect English. The room was nothing like the pictures. The pictures i have added are from room 308. This is along a dark corridor that has the smell of stale fried food to it. The room was dark and very small and looked like it belonged in the 80s. I later found out this room had not yet been upgraded, and upgraded rooms were being called deluxe rooms so the hotel could charge more for them. This was told to me by another member of reception. The television in the room did not work, and was reported immediately on arrival, 24 hours later when i told the hotel i wanted a room change, the television was fixed within the hour. Amazing really. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room, this is disappointing. The bathroom was incredibly small. There was also no evidence of a smoke detector within the room, not sure how this is legal in Europe

The hotel is in a great location! East walk to the train station and other attractions. Close to restaurants & pubs but in a quiet location. The rooms could use a little updating but overall it was a decent hotel. Very friendly front desk staff.

Convenient located reasonably priced hotel
While the outside of the hotel has no curbside appeal, the room itself was pleasantly renovated. The manager at reception kindly helped us get a working fridge into our room, as ours wasn't working. They didn't have cups in the room except for beer glasses but gladly provided one from the dining room. Our room was surprisingly spacious although I suspect not all rooms were similarly sized.
