“Great for a short break.”

Cannot fault this hotel for cleanliness and service. Good breakfasts and great bathroom. The bed was comfortable but could have done with another pillow but kept forgetting to ask for one! Very central for nightlife but some noise from traffic/trains, not enough to bother me though. Would recommend this hotel and Cologne.

“Good Hotel, excellent location”

Good value hotel in excellent location: bit too close to railway and road if you want a peaceful night but this is a big city! Please note that the beds dont have the usual quilt or covering: pack a pair of pyjamas if a winter stay considered! However I highly recommend the hotels value for money and excellent breakfast buffet.

“Classy little hotel”

The Hotel Cristall is a kind of art hotel, but reasonably priced and well located in Cologne. The rooms are quite large for the price, the breakfast is excellent, the service friendly. The neighborhood may seem a bit rough at first, but it is safe and if you walk north from the hotel, under the railway viaduct you end up in a nice commercial neighborhood leading to some nice neighborhood restaurants around one of the old city gates.

“Great location for sightseeing in Cologne!”

Very clean and tidy hotel, lovely breakfast service and nice room. In a very good location for the train station and for getting around Cologne as it took literally 5 mins to walk to the Dom. Didnt hear any noise from the train station at all, or from the road. Room was very warm with no way of adjusting the radiator but windows opened so that was fine! Only thing is if you like to drink tea, bring your own travel kettle as there is no facility for this in the room and they only provide coffee at breakfast which for me was the only minor drawback, but having read other reviews on here we were well prepared with our own travel kettle! very good value for money would stay here again if we went back to Cologne and will be recommending this hotel to anyone who visits there.

“I would stay here again without hesitation”

I was very impressed with the standard of the hotel. Our room was on the first floor, number 120 and quite a reasonable size. Very clean, warm and comfortable. Although there really wasn't a 'view' from our window (above a flat roof overlooking other rooms of the hotel). The room was very quiet no sounds heard from the street or railway (which some other reviewers have had a problem with). The only noise I had to put up with was my sisters snoring!! (she had a cold). The buffet breakfast was excellent with a good selection of breads, cold meats, cheese, eggs (boiled and scrambled), fruit etc. The Hotel is in a great position, less then 10 mins walk from the train station, Cathedral and Christmas markets.

“Ideally placed for the city centre.”

We had a very pleasant stay while visiting the Christmas markets. The hotel was all we needed as we were out most of the time. Breakfast was included which was excellent as were our rooms. We would definitely stay there again and the distance to the markets, shops and station was very easy. The area was said by some people to be not very pleasant but several prestigious hotels were quite near and we certainly were not concerned. We would highly recommend it.

“Good accommodation ideally situated in the City Centre”

Hotel Cristall is only about 10 minutes walk from thestation & Cathedral, providing good, clean, comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. Breakfast is a contiental buffet offering a varied choice. Only drawback is that they do not offer evening meals (in December atleast)We've used this hotel twice and found it ideal for our needs.

“fantastic location”

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel good breakfast excellent staff.Only 5 mins walk to the cathedral.This is my 3rd time at this hotel it wont be my last, cant wait to go back.Good transport links 5 mins away from the station.

“Excellent budget hotel”

We chose this hotel mainly for its location in the centre of Cologne, not far from the Cathedral. We had come to visit the Christmas markets & so location was important. The hotel was, warm & comfortable with very helpful & efficient staff. Breakfast was avilable until 10.00am on weekdays & until 11.00 am at weekends, which meant there was no rushing around in the morning! Furnishings were rather "Art Deco" & maybe not to everyone's taste, but everywhere was clean & tidy. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good quality budget hotel, in a central location.
