Very pleased with the location of the hotel.Posted Dec 14, 2013
Cons: Keeping a tab on what is owed!!
Location: Great central location for city centre and Christmas markets
Great hotel in good location, staff very helpful and accommodating although when we checked out they asked for a bill of ninety euros which we didn't owe!! We explained that we paid for everything as we had gone along. They we ok with this and it would not stop us staying there again.

Good Central LocationPosted Oct 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Issues with checking in as we had booked through an online website, but they eventually sorted in. Service from staff excellent. Hotel rooms a little small and decor dated, but they were clean. Location very central and a great place to commute from, but not in a great area. Wi-fi OK, but could and should be better.

Clean, convenient hotelPosted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: Very clean rooms with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was from 06.30 - 10.30.
Cons: The speed at which breakfast buffet is replenished and the toaster was painfully slow.
Location: It is close to the Dom and the train station. A 10 minute walk to the river. Close to shopping centres.
We stayed four nights at this hotel. It is a very clean hotel and staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels daily. It is central for all sights - Dom,river etc. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice but staff were slow to replenish supplies and the hotel was not busy. It does not have air conditioning so we had to leave the window open at night and, even though it is situated on the corner of two quiet streets, there was noise from cars and people coming and going at hotel opposite. Overall though it is a good hotel and I would return.

Close to the station and the heart of ColognePosted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Second time here. Small room but larger than most in Germany. Very hard bed, but comfortable. Large screen TV, many channels, good fast free internet. Good breakfast with lots of choices. Not luxury, but for a business trip it worked very well and I did not even need a taxi during 4 days.

Excellent servicePosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at this hotel while travelling en route from Berlin to Brussels. The stand out features for us were the excellent service and friendliness of staff. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. The room was nice and perfectly adequate for our needs. It was very hot weather and the fan provided in the room was very much appreciated. We would stay here again.

It's the best western...so you get what you pay forPosted Jun 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Let me say that this is a live review...on our second night here in Koln. The name does not say Best Western but the towels do...:) nothing wrong with that, clean sheets and reasonably comfortable beds..just that the name is a little misguiding. Our room faced the inner courtyard ...there is no AC so we tried to leave the windows open...but could hear the clanging and clinking of every plate and spoon being washed by some very irate dishwashers we were sure, by about midnight! So we closed the windows and it got so stuffy that I woke up sweating. Finally it quieted down by about 2am and I got me best sleep...but then i am a light sleeper... The room itself looks and feels like its seen some better days with really extensive paint damage and peeling wallpaper where there's been water damage. Then the bathroom looks like its the "before" of a home improvement DIY show...really dated, dank and just dingy...mainly from the dark grout lines. The German style shampoo/soap in the dispenser really smelt like dog shampoo to our son and me (but that might be just us), :) and the free wifi did not work very well...signal is good only when the room door is open or right at the door which is where I am right now! Hallways look cheesy ...I could go on... Although I must say what the room lacked in comfort and quiet was partially made up by the free breakfast buffet which was surprisingly good quality and the location from the HBF. Had I known it was a BW..I'd have stayed away.

Nothing exciting but nothing dreadful. It's a roomPosted Jun 10, 2013
Location: Close to train station
Hotel and breakfast are fine. Nothing exciting, nothing dreadful. Close walk to train station which is good. Adequate breakfast. Some rooms are small, but as they cater to bus tours I think if you are there for a few days they will give you larger room if you ask (as I did). I would stay again if not looking for anything fancy. I would probably try somewhere else as price isn't great enough to tip the balance.

Fine HotelPosted May 28, 2013
Pros: It was very near the restaurants and Dom.
This hotel was very close to the Dom and the Old Town. It can be reached from the train station in easy walking distance.
