Springs

Had to wait in line at check in 20 minutes When I got to the desk I had my confirmation number but they needed my drivers license and I left it in the car, so they wouldn't check me in. I went back to car to get it and then had to stand in line again to get checked in. Crazy it takes 40 minutes to check in when u already have reservations. The First Lady to help me try and check In was all business and not friendly at all. She's the one that had me go get my license then stand in line again.

Check-in time at Cheyenne Mountain Resort can get quite busy at times and we apologize if your wait seemed longer than necessary. Please understand that having valid identification is an important part of the check-in process as we need to make sure that the person who paid for the room is actually the person who is checking in. Our staff's intention was not to inconvenience you by any means, but to make sure your reservation was accurate and secure. Thank you for your feedback.

Can't beat the venue but rooms need to be updated.

Very nice location to spend time in Colorado Springs. The main building and grounds were quite nice. Pool and beach areas were a hit with kids. The rooms were somewhat dated and need to renovated. The service at restaurants was very slow but servers were accomodating and pleasant. I would return even with the shortcomings noted.

Resort next to Cheyenne Mountain

Cons: Better restaurant food, lower prices for entrees, hire a concierge, have an in house spa.
Location: Convenient to down town. Miramont Castle tour and tea room are a must in Manitou Springs. Close to everything lots to do.
We stayed to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The hotel gave us a free bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. They do not have a spa so I had to book my massage at Lotus, a nearby spa/salon. Our first meal was very expensive ($33 for a buffet) at the resort's best restaurant. The food was terrible. We had a grizzley, dry, chewy buffalo meatloaf with an overpoweringly bourboned BBQ sauce. The salad bar was disappointing with mixed lettuce but no other veggies and a grainy thousand island dressing. I might add that some of the greens were browning or wilted. We expected much more for our money. Got better food at Panera. For a country club, they really need to provide better service and top notch amenities. Our room did not have a sliding door that locked and the bed had an over used mattress. So we used the other queen bed instead. The fitness room was top notch and well appointed. You can boat on the lake and they have a nice lap pool outside and an Olympic pool indoors. No concierge.

Happy Anniversary! While we are happy to hear that you found our location so convenient to the area attractions and our fitness room top notch we are disappointed to learn that our buffet did not meet your expectations. We truly apologize if any of the food served was not your ideal dinner entrée selection. Thank you for your review, we do hope that you will allow us the opportunity to serve you once again in the future so that we may have the chance to exceed all expectations at that time. We wish you many more happy years to come!

Very overpriced!

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The beds were comfortable.
Cons: Paint on the plaster repair, free water bottles, more appropriate pricing for the room. $125 per night would make it right.
Location: The location is very convenient to Royal Gorge, Manitou Springs, Garden of the gods, Pikes Peak, the Zoo. Feed giraffes at the zoo!
First of all this is a motel, not a hotel! You drive up to your room and carry your bags up or down stairs unless you are on the street level. The stairs are in so-so condition, and it just feels second class lugging your stuff up or down stairs. There was a wall plaster repair in our room next to the sliding doors that had not been painted. The sliding doors were very hard to open and close. We paid extra for a balcony with two chairs and a view of the golf course. (The view was fantastic with mountains behind the golf course.) The chairs, however, were not very comfortable. The room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The furnishings were just okay. We paid close to $300 for our room for two, for which you would expect some basic courtesies. There were two ordinary water bottles in the room waiting for us with price tags of $4 each on them. They could not include 2 ordinary water bottles??? At least they provided coffee, soap, and shampoo! If we come back, we are staying at the Broadmoor!

Pros: Great location and extremely clean and quiet
Wonderful location, beautiful view of the mountains in the morning. Loved the reading lights on the head board. My daughter loves her bear that was in the room. She held it all the way back home. Very clean and nicely decorated.

The Staff

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: The staff was personal.
Cons: When a customer requests transportation to the Broadmoor, this hotel should provide it especially when the customer does not have a car. We got a taxi
Location: We only stayed for two days.
Bree at the bar, Patty at the front desk, and all the people at the resort were wonderful. thank you.

Pros: Luxurious rooms, soft beds, no smoking facility.
Location: Hiking, museums, restaurants, Pikes Peak cog train
Lots of activities right on site. Golf, swimming (both in pools and lake), restaurants--everything you need to relax without leaving the property. Staff is helpful and courteous. Lots to do in Colorado Springs area as well.
