“Beware of "extra charges"”

Loved everything about The Cliff House" until we received our bill. There was an added $18.00 per day charge for "hotel room services". These were explained as charges for tipping bell boy, valet, bed turn down etc. We had been tipping during our stay not realizing we would be billed extra for this. Supposedly we agreed to this when we checked in but it was not brought to our attention. Supposedly it was in Expedia details, but it is not listed in the information regarding hotel when I checked for it today. It sort of spoiled the end of a beautiful stay. Also, there is a parking charge of $9.00 per night. This was discussed with us on check in.

“Over the Top Accommodations.”

This is a newly remodeled and well maintained hotel. Excellent value for the money. Manitou Springs is definately more charming than Colorado springs. And the service here is fabulous.

“Great place to stay”

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff was helpful, the room comfortable (though ours was small), the breakfast delicious. Dinner in the dining room was among the best we've had and is reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

“Relaxed and spoiled”

I found the experience relaxing and full of kindness and detail from the time I drove up to the curb and handed my keys to the valet. My room was charming and the electric toilet seat warmer was a detail I haven't run into at other historical hotels. The dining experience for dinner was especially nice.

“Above and beyond”

We forgot to empty the safe when we checked out, leaving cash etc. We realized that when we were hours away and called and received very efficient and honest help-mailed it to us after buying a postal money order with our cash. We felt very confidant that we would receive our money, etc and we did only 2 mail days later. Thank you for your efficiency in a situation that could have ruined our trip.

“Best Romantic place in Colorado”

We celebrated our Anniversary at the Cliff House. We had a wonderful time. The room was so romantic with the fireplace, sky light and spa tub for two. Free Breakfast was an extra added bonus.

“Great Place !”

This is a special place, located very near the main shopping district and area attractions. Staff was very helpful and the room was very nice. I would high recommend Manitou Springs over Colorado Springs if you like to walk around and browse the shops. There is a nice buffet breakfast provided (free) in the dining room, much more provided than most hotels. The onsite restaurant was very nice also. Valet parking is available for $7 per day, but I always found close on street parking. I would highly recommend this place for people who want more than a cheap place to sleep.

“Very nice”

Classy old place with antiques etc, perfect location, room came with free breakfast that was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff seemed to outnumber guests, but were never bothersome. A/C was broken in our room, we discovered kind of late. They immediately offered another room, but it was cool and quiet outside at night so we opened a window and it was fine. Also surprised to find excellent weight room.

“Absolutely charming hotel with warm welcome in area rich with natural wonders”

Lovely hotel with gracious and very attentive staff who made us feel like guests in a home. We always prefer staying in the Manitou Springs area when we visit Colorado Springs to visit our son in college. We were there over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the Cliff House as our base to explore all the fun activities in the region. We had leisurely breakfast (excellent buffet included in rate) before heading off for the adventure of the day. It was wonderful to dine on the veranda and learn more about the area from the very personable staff who seemed to genuinely welcome guests.
