“Not good”

“nice, affordable room”

The hotel was just repainted. The room was clean and service of staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The location was convenient to the sites.

“We were in good hands”

The manager put himself out to attend to us; very responsible. The breakfast would have been improved with yogurt and coffee-cream. The bathroom sink should be refinished to bring it up to today's expectations. We will happily return there.

“Not Impressive”

Rooms are just OK, beds are comfortable, clean linens, but overall the hotel shows signs of bare bones management. Breakfast is minimal.

“Adequate for My Needs”

Even though this is not the fanciest motel, our room met our needs. The beds were very comfortable, so we had a good night's sleep for the 4 nights we stayed. We certainly appreciated the desk clerks' advice on where to eat and their answers to our many questions. Since I walk early each morning for exercise, I loved the two different areas to walk in and that I felt very safe walking early each morning. My two complaints would be not enough closet space and too warm and stuffy (we had to turn on the air conditioner in October!). Overall, however, the room was adequate and I would stay there again.

Area recommendations
Manitou -- so many things to do and see (Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, etc.) and many excellent choices of restaurants Air Force Academy -- contributes to patriotism, very interesting Old Colorado City -- a huge variety of quaint, one-of-a-kind shops, interesting museum, historic houses Royal Gorge (in Canon City) -- spectacular scenery Seven Falls -- fantastic scenery, great hikes Colorado Springs and surrounding areas offers such a huge variety of activities, museums, restaurants. We absolutely loved it and plan to return soon.
When to go
We went in the middle of October and the weather was still warm enough for outdoor activities but not too cold. Also, this time of year, we didn't have to worry about too many people at the various places we went.

“Value for money”

Value for your money, friendly and helpful staff. The printer in the lobby worked and was able to print boarding passes. Close proximity to tourist locations.

“Could of been cleaner, there was hair on the bathroom floor.”

Carpets could of been cleaner but over all was a confortable hotel.

“Nice people, old hotel”

The staff at the hotel was friendly- even recommending a FABULOUS BBQ place for our dinner, but the actual hotel was well used. It was fine for what we needed, a little further from our conference than we had originally thought, but that was our fault and not theirs. It was ok because we didn't spend time there, only to sleep. It seemed pretty quiet at night, which was good. So--- I wouldn't recommend it for spending a lot of time at your motel, but it slept fine.
