Nice hotel at a good location

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The telephone in the room was not working. And the front desk was not helpful with this issue. It was ok for me since I was staying just for one night
I had a good comfortable one night stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the location was good. The breakfast buffet was average. But for the price I paid I expected a little more.

Nice stay

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient. The price was reasonable.
Cons: There was a mildew smell in the bathroom. Also when we went to the buffet on Saturday around 9:00, most of the food selections were gone.
Location: Vry convenient to the highway, shopping and restaurants
We had a Thursday - Sunday stay. Great value for your money.

Good hotel overall, great location.

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, good location, and amazing breakfast.
Cons: Something should so that the air conditioner properly cools the room and goes beyond the sleeping area to remove the humidity from the bathroom.
Location: Shopping, dining, and the interstate, making it easy to get to Garden of the God, Glen Eyre, many hiking trails, the Academy, and much more.
Our room needed some repairs. The hot/cold in the bathroom was labeled incorrectly. The room door did not close or open easily; you had to be very purposeful in both actions. The air conditioner ran all the time, but even on 67 we woke during the night warm and sweaty. The air conditioner did not reach beyond the sleeping area leaving the entry and bathroom warm and humid. However, the staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Also, it is in a great location. You can easily get to shopping, dining, the interstate, and popular tourist spots. The absolute best thing about this hotel is the breakfast. It is the best spread we have ever seen, including a custom omelet chef. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We would stay again

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was great! Bed was very comfortable and room met our needs. Thank you!
Cons: Please have housekeeping understand that if people aren't out of their rooms right away the first morning they aren't likely to change going forward.
Location: Within 30 minutes of Garden of Gods, Seven Falls, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, and mere minutes from Air Force Academy. Royal Gorge just over an hour away
Anytime my wife & I go out of town, and especially if we are staying in multiple locations like we were during our trip to Colorado, we rate multiple things including our hotels. This one was our mutual choice for second best. We found the breakfast to be the best of all the places we stayed and staff was very helpful. Would have appreciated housekeeping waiting (especially after the first day) until later in the day to check our room/needs as we are not early risers. We were within minutes of everything we wanted to do and would definitely recommend this location to any of our friends.

Not worth the price

I had to walk forever to get to my room. Wifi is absolutely worthless and would kick you off constantly. Breakfast was ok and free, but they requested that you tip the help.

Staff not very friendly, rooms were okay.

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Had family with young kids in room next door, kids were screaming and crying, some yelling in the early morning, wasn't sure if there were real issues or just kids being kids. Called front desk, they assured me they would check on it. The crying and yelling continued another 40 minutes. I don't think the staff ever came to check on the problem.

Cons: The bathroom was small and hard to navigate if you have multiple people.
Stayed at the Academy Hotel to visit our son. We had a good stay and the beds were comfortable. Black out shades made it easy to adjust to time differences and the pool was great.
