"Very nice hotel next to the Roman Forum."
The hotel is located very close to the Roman Forum, Colosseum and a few steps from the Mouth of Truth. We enjoyed and appreciated the inclusive breakfast. The servers were extremely friendly and help make fresh late and cappucinos for us, upon request. Our room looked out to the ruins so that was a nice treat. We are a family of 4 and were quite comfortable here.

"Excellent hotel close to all the sights"
We stayed here for several nights in October 2013. The hotel location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk from the colloseum and the forum. The room had everything we needed - (comfy) double bed, ensuite bathroom and even a small fridge to store food in. It was also spotlessly clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lots of decent restaurants on the same street as the hotel, aswell as a supermarket just downstairs where you can buy things for breakfast if you wish. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

"Perfect for us, excellent location"
Family, the two room suite worked out perfectly. Lots of space. Hotel was clean and well appointed, but not the most modern. Front desk staff very welcoming and helpful. Nice breakfast on roof terrace every morning. Location is excellent, easy walking distance to most major sights, but also close enough to the train station to grab the metro to go to Vatican, etc. A word about the water pressure - EXCELLENT. So many European hotels have sad hand held showers that just dribble water at you, but at the Borromeo we could not even use the water at full pressure it was so strong.

"Not strictly a hotel but could be perfect for you"
Let me start by saying that the Aenea is not strictly a hotel, it is located within a pre existing apartment building, but dont let that put you off it may be exactly what your looking for, breakfast is provided for all guests but as there is no restaurant or tabled area it is left in a basket outside your room early in the morning, this was ideal as I like to have my breakfast when I want not when the hotel tells me it is being served. The staff (we mainly dealt with Hannan, apologies if misspelt) were very helpful and could answer any questions about travelling round Rome and showed me on the map the best things to include in a days sightseeing. the rooms were much nicer than most hotel rooms in my opinion all tiled and air conditioned with a fridge and tv (in Italian ofcourse), some free drinks provided aswell as a kettle, tea coffee and biscuits. they were turned down daily and refreshments replaced. as to the location of the hotel it was ideal you can walk to everything in Rome from here but you would probably want to catch the metro if you are crossing the river for example to visit the Vatican, the metro station is a few minutes walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and also found the the place to be quite quiet, it is perfect for couples visiting Rome. For the price I would say it is the place to stay in this area of Rome if you are not interested in a Hotel restaurant and busy reception/lobby and prefer something abit quieter.

"Quaint Hotel"
At first the hotel is hard to find because it is within an apartment complex. I would have liked a little warning about that as it took us a few minutes to realize where it was located. Once my fiance and I found the reception area on the 3rd floor, we had a decent time. There is not much extra noise at night in the surrounding area (at least on weekdays) which makes for very sound sleeping. Trying to eat healthy while on vacation is often difficult. Luckily there is a small market nearby which has a decent selection of fruit, yogurt, and other healthy goods at a reasonable price. The only real way to see Rome is to wander and get a little lost. It forces you to get to know the city and you find all sorts of small restaurants, shops, etc. Overall, we had a lovely time!

"Amazing little place for a great price"
Roberta (owner) was so sweet and drew on a map all the to-go places and even some of her favorite restaurants. They served breakfast in the morning with yummy cappucinos, pastries, juice, etc. and were always super kind. Her restaurant recommendations were great! They have WiFi, it's very clean, and it's only about a 10 or 15 minute walk to the Colosseum/ancient runes. If you stay here you have to go to the Gilatto place just down & across the street (leaving the inn to the right) on the corner. DELICIOUS! The only thing that I would say was annoying was lugging our suitcases there on the Roman roads! So if you can, I'd take a bus to the city from the airport, and then a taxi to the inn :)

Room was ok. It was a bit dark in the room because the window was on it's own down a narrow hallway, separated from the room. Some people might like that feature because it's completely dark for sleeping and absolutely noiseless.

Colosseum - Roman Forum, Rome Hotel Guide

The heart of Ancient Rome, all roads led to the Forum. Visitors flock here to walk the streets where Julius Caesar once trod when this was the centre of commercial, political and judicial life. Nearby, the Colosseum, described by Lord Byron as 'the gladiators' bloody circus', is the world's most famous amphitheatre and the most impressive of all Rome's buildings and ruins.
