Good value and quiet.

Cons: Breakfast availability for the amount of guest staying during football weekend.
Breakfast was a little lacking due to availability, but overall pleasing stay and would stay again.

Staying at the Baymont

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: everything was clean for the most part. Loved the pool area very nice and kept up.
Cons: Shower curtain had mold on the bottom of it Rm#242. water always got on the floor from curtain not being big enough.
Location: Ft. Jackson was my daily destination while there for the week
Enjoyed staying at the Baymont. Always a clean room except when we asked for it not to be cleaned. Never felt concerned that anyone had gone through any personal items that was left in our room. Very nice having a hotel that supplied blow dryers and irons for each room. Great and friendly staff. If ever back in that area will definetly be staying there.

Parent Weekend at USC

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: quiet
Cons: First room we were given had smoky smell, the screen to the door was off it's track/nonfunctioning, the entrance nearest that room was out of order.
Location: Were in town for event at USC. Fairly easy to get to campus in under 15 minutes.
This hotel was just OK for what we needed for busy weekend in town due to Parent Weekend at USC. When checking in, there was a misunderstanding with housekeeping who thought our room was occupied. The room we were given had many issues, noted under improvements, but most notable was the smoky smell of the room which does not work with asthma. When asked if any other rooms might be available, we were redirected to the room we should have had first, and it was much better. It did not have a screen at all to the patio door, so it was less than ideal to try and air the room out due to flying bugs entering when door was open. The room was a tad smoky smelling, but not enough to cause issues with asthma. The mattress was rather uncomfortable, but functional. We did not try the breakfast, but was disappointed the coffee was unavailable in the morning when we left.

Excellent lodging

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: It is already excellent
Location: Downtown Columbia is interesting, tourist friendly, and we recommend the Blue Marlin for shrimp & grits.
Stayed here for one night while in Columbia, South Carolina. It was a great pleasure. Fabulous room, nice exercise equipment and great breakfast.

Fine but not First Choice for Visiting USC

Posted Sep 29, 2014
My family (Husband and three daughters) stayed at the Belmont Inn over the Parents'/Family weekend at USC in two separate rooms. Insofar as the accommodations were concerned, they were completely fine, not fancy, but clean. The breakfast was complete and the staff in charge was very solicitous. We heard other guests say that they had stayed there previously. The only negative is the location. It is about 10-15 minutes drive to the USC campus and it includes highways and sometimes traffic. We will look for a hotel closer to the school for our next visit.

Good value, clean, nice staff.

Pros: Simple, clean, affordable.
Cons: Need to fix access on some exterior doors. Only reason this is mentioned is it was an issue last time we stayed.
Did not spend a great deal of time in the hotel. Stayed for Parents weekend.
