“Needs an update, but OK.”

We stayed in a suite with an entrance to the outside. It was spacious and clean, but needed updating, with older carpet and wallcovering and countertops. It was nice to have the kitchenette and couch. There was no elevator to the second floor, and so suitcases had to be carried up the outdoor stairs. Bed was comfortable and we had a good stay, overall.

“just an overnight stay”

I can't say this is the worst hotel I have stayed in, but it definitely was not the best. Our neighbors were extremely loud or the walls are super thin. The bed was comfy though.

“Gross Rooms”

When we showed up the room looked okay from first glance, but then we found empty water bottles next to the bed and crumbs on the floor. There was a used bar of soap left in the shower on the bar rack so we did not know if the shower was even cleaned. The second day when we came back only one of the beds was made and we found a rolled up mattress sheet within out clean sheets (of the bed that was made...) and the used bar of soap still in the bathroom. We will not choose to stay here again, even with the location downtown it is not worth the price what so ever.

“University of South Carolina Hotel”

“Super good deal on Expedia”

In Columbia for my son's BMT graduation from Ft Jackson. Hotel location midway between CAE airport & Ft Jackson. About 6 blocks from downtown proper. For a short stay, it fit our needs--safe, clean, good AC, strong enough shower, pool, fitness eqiupment, & most important uber comfy beds!!! Room was larger than I expected.

Must see

Finlay Park nearby (long walk from hotel but doable if you are fit) was so beautiful! Breathtaking backdrop for portraits.
