Broken water main stay.

During the night of our stay there was a local broken water main. The next morning we were unable to take showers or have breakfast. When talking to the Owner / Manager he told me there would be no charge for the room. We checked with our credit card when we returned home and there was INDEED NO CHARGE. For this reason alone I would refer this motel to anyone I know. Thank you for your honesty Mr Manager.

Pros: Off the main road, out of congestion
Cons: I would have like a refrigerator to keep my drinks cool
Location: Lots of restaurants & places to enjoy.
Hotel staff was kind, even helped me upstairs w/luggage due to being disabled. All lower floors were already booked. Breakfast was o.k. Staff even removed plates from table for you. Enjoyable stay.

Motel room bugged.

Had large bugs in the motel room. At first I thought they were cockroaches but later found out that they were palmetto bugs - not cool.

Internet doesn't work, TV kept going "fuzzy," several cockroaches in room, bed cover had stains. Go somewhere else. Worst Clarion I have ever stayed in!!!!!!!!!!

Good location and good staff BUT the building needs help....phone didn't work in our room but more importantly, the dryer didn't work but was still supposed to be used (?) I think it is a rather nice hotel, good staff and clean accommodations however it needs to provide a fuller, varied breakfast and not be doled out; needs for tech issues to be addressed....a real pain to get on Internet each time and their laundry facilities need to be increased and working.

Pros: The staff continues to be very friendly, courteous and helpful. While not located in downtown, the hotel is still conveniently located.
Cons: This hotel needs significant upgrades including new room furnishings, soft goods, TV (still an old CRT in our room) and HVAC with better controls.
My wife and I have stayed here on numerous occasions to visit our son at USC. In the past, we have found the hotel to be a very good value with very helpful, friendly staff. During our most recent stay this month, we found the room to be very tired, uncomfortably warm (thermostat set at 86 degrees upon arrival) and smelling of cigarette smoke (we had requested and the room was described as a smoke-free unit). The manager offered to relocate us to another room when I reported the smoke problem; however, we were too tired from a day on the road to move. Regarding the room temperature in the mid-80's (outdoor temperature at 35 degrees), we were unable to cool the room down because the HVAC Unit had no separate Fan-Only control (for outside air) and the cooling cycle would shut down after about 2 minutes of operation every 20 minutes.
