“Very enjoyable!”
The Hampton Street Vineyard restaurant across the street from the Marriott is a fabulous place for a dinner for two or a large group. EXCELLENT!!!!
“Was better the last time I stayed there in 2007”
I think it was a nice hotel and the customer service was excellent, but there were a few things wrong. (Didn't have our dinner reservations, the remote control in the room was missing, the jacuzzi had a malfunction.) These were minor problems, but left me feeling as if we had to annoy the front desk one too many times. I stayed at the hotel 3 years ago and had no problems or questions for the front desk at all. I remembered it as the best hotel in the city, so was a little disappointed that they're no longer at the top of their game.
“Great Location”
Hotel is perfect for visiting kids that attend The University of South Carolina.
“"Not impressed "”
Check is was at 4:00 - room was not ready until 6:30 , when we finally went to our room it was the last room at the end of a long hallway with a fan outside of it in the hallway , with a moldy smell in the hallway , room was very tiny for 4 people and the rug was a little wet-- the next morning went to print something and was told that the printer cartridge was out , I asked when could it be replaced a very rude front desk personnel answered when we get a minute. Would never go back to this hotel!!
“Great value for business meetings downtown Columbia”
This is the hotel of choice if you have any business to conduct at City Hall. Main Street location is fairly centrally located between City Hall and the State House. Fairly good room service and very decent accommodations at a moderate price make this a good businessman's choice. Rooms are nicely appointed with free wireless internet access, and flat screen TV.
“Great hotel good location”
It was a nice hotel had a problem with my bed. It had an object in the bed which told me that someone did not change the sheets before we checked in. The hotel corrected it immed
“Great for the conference”
Area was appropriate for the conference
“Will Love to Go Back”
Everything was lovely. The staff was great. Its the Marriott, so the pricing isn't the best, but the service was lovely.
“Good service, good value”
Buffet breakfast was very good and moderately priced.
“Great Hotel to stay but keep the staff on their toes”
As I frequently stay at this particular Marriott during my visits to Columbia, SC (our head quarters are located in downtown, Columbia, SC). Upon arrival at the airport I called the hotel for their complimentary shuttle service and while it did not work out for me to get a pick up, they did pay for a taxi to bring me to hotel. Check in - The check in was friendly and fast but they put me in a room that was very small. To all travelers avoid any room in the Columbia Marriott that is an even thousand number on any floor as the rooms are very small. Food and Service - Service was very good but the food order was incorrect on two occasions (vegetables missing off one meal and hamburger prepared rare vs. the requested medium). Gym - Great facility, clean and maintained well.
