You get what you pay forPosted Jun 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here 2 nights. We picked this hotel due to a combination of price and location, which was near Fort Jackson. The area itself was a bit rough and there wasn't much in the immediate area. The condition of the place was a bit rough as well. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was broken, which was an inconvenience. The "lobby" area contains a glass barrier at the front desk. The photos online are misleading. It's not a very "welcoming" atmosphere to say the least. Both days that we were there the "managers" of the place had their vehicle parked under the canopy by the lobby. I thought it was rather inconsiderate to the elderly or disabled who may have wanted to park under the canopy to check in/out or unload luggage. The room itself was okay. The only thing that bothered me was the musty damp smell that we encountered upon entry. It appeared to be originating from the bathroom. I don't know if it's due to the age of the building, or a larger problem. The managers were foreign and it appeared that English wasn't their first language. But they were friendly and accommodating. My wife asked for a razor and some additional towels on the 2nd day, which they provided without hassle. All in all, the place was average. If we were to come to the area again, we'd probably pass on it and spend the extra $20 per night for something a little nicer, but if you're on a budget, the place wasn't too bad. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Rating should be "1 star"Posted Apr 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
I requested and paid for a "non-smoking" room but the room had obviously been smoked in several times. I called the front desk to possibly request another room and was told that, "we don't book smokers in non-smoking rooms and they were unable to change my room because they had no other rooms." The free breakfast was also a JOKE! The only good thing about the room was the "shower head". Luckily my business only lasted 1 day. I will not be staying there again.

possibly the worstPosted Feb 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
During my recent three night stay at Days Inn Columbia i felt uncomfortable and sometimes angry at my choosing of this hotel for service. The room was poorly maintained for some extended period of time. The HBO and the cable service as a whole were shotty and itermittent. There was no coffee pot provided on the first night. The continental breakfast provided ws stale mini muffins and juice that was of an extremely poor taste. The parking lot was minimal and uncontrolled. The distance to our event was not far IRT mileage, inital access did prove to be challenging.
