NOT PLEASEDPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were not pleased with our stay at all. The bed spread had large visible stains. The room was extremely hot when we arrived. We turned the air on and were gone for about 8 hours. When we returned it was still hot and the room stayed uncomfortable the entire night. The sink in the main room had a large leak onto the carpet which added to the mold smell. I am glad we did not stay more than one night. I did leave something at the room and when I called the front desk said nothing had been turned in. He would not take my name or contact information, or check the room to see. I think that was very unprofessional. I know the top floor is not used often, based off of my experience so I know there have not been a lot of people through the hotel in the past few days after my visit. I would not recommend the ECONO lodge in Columbia to anyone. We stay in Columbia about 10 times a year and will never return to that location.

Great for the price!Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The breakfast was great. It included waffles and biscuits and gravy and everything was very fresh.
Location: It was not too far from the mall and close to lots of restaurants.
Our experience was great for the $60 room rate, as compared to other hotels in Columbia. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The room was older, but clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Econolodge should shut this hotel down.Posted Aug 14, 2013
Cons: If it was condemned.
We stayed at this hotel because everything else was booked. We saw the reviews were bad, but somehow hoped it wouldn't be that bad and we really had no choice. Now I have to say we should have kept driving or slept in our car. When we arrived, the back part of the hotel seemed to be abandoned - looked like a slum. The air conditioner didn't turn on at all in the first room they gave us. They moved us to another room, this time the AC turned on for a little while, we showered and got in bed when the AC shut off. We ended up sleeping with the window open. The carpet was so grungy I walked around with shoes so as not to touch the floor with my bare feet. The décor was outdated, like 70's outdated!! Econolodge should seriously consider shutting this hotel down until it is remodeled.

Nice hotel close to the ballparkPosted Jul 24, 2013
Pros: The price was great and the breakfast was included. The room was clean and the staff was pleasant. Also, it was close to the ball field.
Cons: Maybe more roll away beds for when the hotel is fully booked. Plus add an ice machine to the second floor and make sure both are full.
Location: We didn't do anything but play ballgames and go to the grocery.
We were in Columbia for a huge softball tournament. the hotel was close to the ball field. Only a few minutes away. We were able to eat a nice breakfast in the breakfast room before going. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel staff were more than pleasant. Overall, we had a great experience.
