“Quick Booking-Overnight Stay”

The staff at the hotel was very nice and accomodating. I was not pleased with the first room I received. The bathroom tub was extremely worn so I requested a new room. There was no problem getting me into a new room.

“Embassy is my new "go to" hotel”

I really loved the whole "atrium" style that embassy has adopted. Very attractive and relaxing environment to come home to. The bedroom is isolated from the living room by a 2nd door to make sure you cant hear any noise coming from outside your room. Central heat/air are exceptional, no noisy window A/C units here. The free drink special is pretty ridiculous, I cant believe they do this. It's not just your typical house liquor, you can pretty much get any drink you want. They had excellent beer and wines, all free for happy hour! I'll definitely be coming back to embassy from now on.

“Would stay here again”

Stayed here while in town for USC Parents Weekend 2011. Usually stay at the Hampton Inn by campus, but it was booked. Close enough to downtown/campus to make the trip multiple times throughout the weekend.

“Will stay there again.”

We stayed here over the recent Labor Day weekend with our 5 and 1 year olds to visit my sister-in-law who lives in the area. We had a king suite and there was more than enough room for the kids to move around and play. The hotel is an older Embassy Suites, but it's in great condition. Our 1 year old is allergic to the down bedding they use, but a quick call before our arrival and all the bedding was replaced with a non-down option. The room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet includes omelets made-to-order along with bountiful other options and is included in your room rate. One unique feature of this hotel is it's proximity to the zoo. While he was loading the car to leave, my husband could hear the animals as it was feeding time. If you stay be sure to visit the zoo which is right across the road and go to nearby (5 minute drive) EdVenture childrens museum. It's hours of fun for all ages. Thank you Embassy Suites for a wonderful stay. We'll be back soon.

“Expedia 40% off is a great discovery”

This is the second time I've used Expedia's 40% off on selected hotels (with the hotel's name revealed only after booking). It was amazing. Lovely, lovely hotel with courtyard, fountain, top-notch customer service; my room had a full suite, kitchenette.

Area recommendations

The part of Columbia SC that I saw was not the most charming - just roads, industrial parks, strip malls. Is there another neighborhood with historic houses?
