“Nice stay”
Overall this is a nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. We stayed during a high occupancy weekend. The staff were very nice but I think the housekeeping staff were a little overwhelmed. One wierd thing the motel pool was rented out friday and saturday to childrens birthday parties one with adults drinking beer so the pool was crowded and a bit rowdy at times.
“Good for the money”
Air conditioner was noisy and took a very long time to cool room. Outside door had gap and was noisy in sitting room. Bedroom was quite if closed interior door. Bathroom didn't have exhaust fan and was rather small. Breakfast and manager's reception was pleasant/filling. All staff we encountered were very professional and courteous. Close to Zoo. Shuttle bus to zoo at hotel, although we did not use this service. Business center downstairs was nice idea, but each time we went to access computers so we could research local events they were taken by teens playing computer games.
“one of the better places in Columbia”
couches are uncomfortable and TV "clickers" were unpredictable. Scenery overlooking flat roof is at best not conducive to looking at scenery. Food court is great as well as front desk service.
“Comfortable accommodations for sad trip”
Suite was spacious and nicely furnished. The bed was relatively comfortable but you could have been better. Lobby and restaurant area creatively done with live and artificial trees, plants and flowers.. A large fountain in the area was beautiful but had strong smell of chlorine that permeated the entire floor. Would stay at this hotel again.
“2 ND STAY AT GREYSTONE”
We stayed at the Greystone in Columbia for 3 days due to our sons wedding. We had stayed last winter also. We enjoy the suites that give you more space and a small living room type area. The staff is very friendly. There are smoking rooms available for those of us that still smoke. The breakfast buffet food was okay but not real warm on Saturday. We would return again. It is less than 5 minutes from downtown Columbia. thanks Greystone!!!!!!!
“Nice hotel; nicer breakfast”
We came to Columbia to visit the zoo, which is why we chose this particular hotel. It is literally across the highway from the zoo-less than .5 a mile! The lobby was lovely, if a little older. The fountain had bubbles in it and did not seem very clean. The staff was very friendly. When we first went into our room, there was a strong, carpet-cleaner like smell. It was overpowering, and I immediately went back and asked for a different room. The staff member I spoke with was very nice and put us in a new room right away. It was nice to have a separate bedroom and living room. We could never hear anyone else in the hotel, and hopefully they couldn't hear our two small children. The pool was very warm, actually too warm to swim in for very long. The reception was nice, with snack food and chips and a bar. The breakfast was lovely! I have never stayed at an Embassy Suites before, so I didn't know what to expect. It was decadent. My husband's only request when I book a hotel is that they serve breakfast, and this went above and beyond a continental breakfast. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back!
“Would stay here again”
Stayed here while in town for USC Parents Weekend 2011. Usually stay at the Hampton Inn by campus, but it was booked. Close enough to downtown/campus to make the trip multiple times throughout the weekend.
“Great Place to stay on business or pleasure”
Embassy Suites is great. The staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast is included.
“Decent Stay”
No complaints about the hotel. Room had a funny smell but I overlooked it.
“Quick Booking-Overnight Stay”
The staff at the hotel was very nice and accomodating. I was not pleased with the first room I received. The bathroom tub was extremely worn so I requested a new room. There was no problem getting me into a new room.
