“Exceeded Expectations”

king room was nicer and larger than other HI Express hotels I've stayed in. no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

“Disappointed”

I could hear the person's entire conversation in the room next to me with my TV and air conditioner on. I could also hear their wake up call. The smoke alarm was buzzing the entire night. I asked them to check it out the next day, which they did not. I had to cut my stay short by a day and they would not refund my last day.

“Won't go back!”

We have not been impressed with the qualitiy of the hotels in the Columbia area. Except for the Hampton Inns. We are only going to stay in those hotels in the future.

Everything was as to be expected in a basic business budget hotel, except for its fitness center, if you could call a small gym with 3 old machines and no weight equipment a "fitness center". The problem with it was that none of the 3 were working properly, or working at all. The treadmill was out of order and had a sign about it. The elliptical was making such a squeeky noise that it felt dangerous to be on it. And the bycycle seat was rendering it almost unusable. When I tried to watch TV in the gym I could not find a remote control and called the front desk. The guy there told me that it was missing, and suggested (I am not kidding) that I climb something to turn it on and change channels. Other than the useless gym (and the guy at the front desk to match t) everything else was fine.

“Noisy Night”

I stay at this hotel on a quaterly basis. The only trouble I have is getting a room that is not facing the busy street. I have asked for a room on the parking lot side but never seem to get the best room. I end up losing sleep. It is a great hotel accomodation with a poor location.

I would recommend it to everyone and would stay there again and again.

“The bed was too high & TV was not connected. It took us about 15 minutes to fix it.”

I am a 5' tall adult woman in my mid 60's. The bed was too high for me to sit on the edge and have my feet reach the floor. The TV was not connected. It took us about 15 minutes to fix it ourselves. Lots of road noise and conversation/noise heard clearly from other hotel guests through the duct in the bathroom. The other complaint I have about most hotel rooms is light pollution coming through the windows, doors, TV, clocks, microwaves, phones, peep holes, etc. at night. Overall, the appearance of the hotel, inside and out, was quite pleasing. The personnel all did their jobs well and were very pleasant. We had young children with our group. It is not unusual to encounter rude behaviour from adults towards them simply because they are children. This facility is child friendly, which says a lot. Even if we had no children with us, I would not stay at a facility that was not child friendly. Breakfast was surprisingly good with more selection than is typical. We stayed at another higher rated hotel in Charleston the next evening and were very disappointed in the condition of the accomodations compared to to this facility. I would recommend it, particularly if you are taller than 5'.

“Loud Street”

At check-in I asked to have a room away from the street. I did not get it and was on the 2nd floor listening to traffic and cars with loud stereos. I did not sleep much. Next time I will be more persistant.

“ROOMS RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY..TOO LOUD”

THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND NICE. JUST WISH IT HAD BEEN IN ANOTHER LOCATION. OUR ROOM WAS RIGHT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND MYSELF, HUSBAND OR MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN DIDN'T SLEEP MUCH. THE HOTEL WASN'T CROWDED AND I WOULD THINK COMMON SENSE WOULD FILL THE ROOMS AWAY FROM THE ROAD FIRST. MAY TRY IT AGAIN SINCE THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE, BUT ONLY IF ASSURED MY ROOM WOULD BE AWAY FROM THE HIGHWAY. CHILDREN WITHOUT SLEEP DIDN'T MAKE A FUN VISIT TO THE ZOO.
