“Claussen's Inn”

We traveled to Columbia for the first time and wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance to restaurants/nightlife/etc. Claussen's fit the bill perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was quiet, and the breakfast was very good. We would definitely stay here again.

“Former Bakery a pleasant surprise”

The hotel was undergoing renovations and I was not in a newly renovated room. Overall it was still very pleasant. I'll return in the hopes of seeing all the renovations completed and the furniture and bedding updated. Great location next to the university and five points. Very convenient. Friendly staff and great breakfast!

“If not for the shower........”

Only issue we had was that the hot water conversion from tub to shower did not work properly so it was very uncomfortable to try and quickly wash one's hair in cold water!! On the up side, the hotel offered everyone a complimentary 15 minute carriage ride and glass of wine. You can walk to everything in 5 points and their suggested restaurant, Garibaldi's, was terrific (try the sauteed shrimp and sausage and ask them to add some chicken).

“A bit tired”

The hotel is tired. The staff is great and the location is great, but for the money in Columbia I will try someplace else next time.

“Location, Location, Location”

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast delivery to the room was a nice touch. I had to rate the condition and maintenance of the room low based on the bathroom. It was clean but needed to be remodeled. Overall if you want to stay close to five points it is nice.

“location great, service and hospitality great, room not so great”

The location could not be better.The service was excellant. The room was not what I booked and they could not change it because they were full. Other than being at the back entrance of the hotel and could hear everyone coming an going at all hours of the night, it was a good place to stay nere everything you could want to see and do.

“Great, but pricy”

I needed to stay in that location so I didn't have much choice. But for the money there are better places to stay in Columbia. A little pricy. Staff was very courteous. They need to get swipe cards.

“Plenty to be desired”

While the hotel room was functional in general and overall was comfortable there were plenty of issues that could be commented on. *The bed blankets had holes in them. *Room service entered and tidied our room even when the sign for privacy was on the knob. *Parking was impossible to use without scraping the bottom of the car. *Wireless network was never fixed even after calling the network companies 800 number for support (they did answer the phone at the odd hours that I called). *Toilet was not secure. It rocked everytime you sat on it. It was cheaper than others in the neighborhood but still I would have expected more.

“Not a 3 star expedia hotel by any stretch...”

Not a great neighborhood...only limited internet connectivity and if you like your hot shower to turn ice cold without warning...then by all means ignore this review and enjoy yourself!
