“Lots of bang for the buck!”

The rooms are nice and large in this hotel including a huge wet bar area and large vanity area. Just lots of counter space and space in general. Alot of bang for the buck. The complementary breakfast was nice because it is held in a dining room that overlooked the river. You get to choose from three breakfast options plus lots of coffee. Waitress was very nice. The only thing I wish they would've had is an indoor pool. Overall this is a decent economical place to stay with lots of space in a very nice setting. I'll definately be back.

“Best place to stay in The Dalles”

Good service and a great location! The room was clean and the grounds are very well taken care of. We loved how we could have breakfast (we had three meal choices to choose from) then go out for a little walk to the edge of the river to start our mornings. Also, there are remnants of a tiny Indian fishing village built in the late 1800s that you can explore nearby.

“Excellent Cajun Food & Good View”

For a small town it was a wonderful surprize to find the caliber of resturant at the Shilo... cajun food was wonderful... we made sure we were back from siteseeing in time for dinner every night.... The hotel staff were very friendly and ensured we had a pleasant stay. Crossed the Columbia River and enjoyed Maryhill Museum, Stonehenge and the Maryhill Winery (excellent wines). Went on to Goldendale and sat in on an excellent presentation at the observatory.. it was a cloudy day so we didn't get to view the sky . . . a reason to go back again sometime.

“The Dalles Hotel - Shilo Inn”

The hotel was quiet, clean, and had great views of the river and the dam. It was a super place to stay for the price.

Rooms were clean and neat. Had a microwave and frig in the room. The restaurant food was OK, but nothing to boast about. Did appreciate the free breakfast - It was more than adequate.

3rd stay in a month. Nice river & view of dam. Breakfast with quick, smiling service starts serving at 5:30 AM (3 choices free with room or use menu) with packed lunch available for a fee. All very handy. Easy walk down to tourist office. Pool looked inviting but we didn't go in. Just enough exercise equipment to get a workout in. No elevators so ask for ground floor if stairs are an issue. Ask for room facing river, not highway. Must use key to access exterior doors of each building.

“Quiet and Scenic convenience in the Gorge.”

The Shilo Inn at the Dalles, OR, is right off the freeway, but far enough to offer a quiet and restful night of sleep. Lovely property with excellent amenities.

We had no complaints. The motel was in nice condition and we lacked for nothing except water glasses.
