really great location

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Great views and really easy access from the freeway. Price was good at $112.
Cons: New or cleaned carpet in dining room. Maids to clean the outside balcony/patio furniture when servicing the room. Cleaner carpets and furniture.
Location: Fabulous plane and car museum in nearby Hood River.
We booked a room with pool view as that was all that Expedia offered that suited our needs but asked for upgrade to river view when we arrived and staff readily accommodated our request. Great view of the dam and the spillway on the Columbia river. Our room was comfortable but stains on the carpet and chairs and the outdoor chairs on the patio were too dusty to sit on so we took the chairs from the room out there to enjoy the view. The restaurant was good and good service but the carpet in the dining room was not clean, there were visible trails.

Not bad, fitness center closed but we weren't told until we went to go use it.

Convenient location to freeway.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: We like the location with easy parking and food options.
Cons: The hear/cool fan was very noisy with tendency to rattle.
Location: The location is good for freeway access and near the bridge over Columbia R to WA.
We had a free upgrade and enjoyed a roomy space with lovely river view. Free breakfast is cooked to order from 3 choices and served in lovely dining room.

HORRIBLE!!!

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Our bed was broke in half, the fan in the bathroom was broken, no wifi, the room was really dirty, and the toilet kept overflowing and drenching the floor. Worst hotel I've ever been in!

Comfortable and quiet

Posted Feb 15, 2015
Cons: It was showing it's age. Also, we had a few small ants in our room that needs to be addressed.
We got good service. It was nice to have a restaurant on the premises. It is an easy location from the freeway.

Could do better

Posted Feb 15, 2015
On the positive, the front desk staff was perfectly pleasant, and the mattress was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. The place felt safe and reasonably quiet. But. That wall heater thing was really noisy. Although the bathroom was clean, the tub/shower had obviously been re-grouted and sealed numerous times... sloppily. So there's permanent muck all over that makes it look sketchy. The worst part is the shower barely worked. You had a choice: either warm water at a trickle, or a freezing shower. But there wasn't enough warm water pressure to make it up to the shower head. I could have stayed at a nearby No - tell - motel for less money and equal room.

We had a wonderful stay. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. The view is beautiful and hotel is close to where our family lives.

saving $ with hotel.com

Posted Jan 7, 2015 on Hotels.com
I hadn't booked the room in advance because we weren't sure how far we would travel that day, but I had checked the hotel.com room rate before departing. When we arrived at the Shilo the desk staff could not authorize a rate that low so I sat in the lobby with my tablet and booked through hotel, com and got the lower rate. We had a pleasant stay.

"Internet access in every room"

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Allows pets, has friendly restaurant and bar staff
Cons: Live up to their promise of internet access.
That's what the banner on the side of the building says. Free internet access in every room. This was not our experience for the 3 days we stayed there. None in the restaurant, none in the entire wing where our room was located. Weak signal in the lobby. Weak signal in the bar. Upon checking out Friday morning the clerk made an excuse about the weather affecting their service. BS. Barely even a brief "sorry".
