Stayed here with the kids this past weekend! The staff was amazing and very accompanying! Moved out room from outside to inside so the kids wouldn't freeze going from the pool to outside! Our room was very clean and the beds comfortable! The hotel overall was beautiful and we enjoyed the pool area a lot. We ate dinner down at the restraunt and the food was amazing !!!

Charming

We went for a couple's getaway. The facilities are great. The only negative is everything around closes at 10:00 pm.

We are so happy that you decided to stay at the Clarion for your couple's getaway. I hope that everything was great with your stay. I did read that the only negative was that everything around the pool closes at 10pm. That is true. The pool and surrounding areas (hot tub, game room, pool tables) all close at 10pm Sunday through Thursday. This same area closes at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We close this area at 10pm during the week as a courtesy to our guests staying in the rooms around the pool area.

OK for the price

Posted Jan 14, 2015 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a bit more 'aged' than I expected. Each time to open our door (we stayed on the 6th floor of the tower) we had to slide the key card into the door key reader over 6 times until it unlocked. We had this issue with multiple keys, but lived with it. The heat and air flow in our room kept us alternating freezing and hot all night. The room was very clean. The free buffet breakfast was what you would expect. Great location to downtown Columbus and right off of highway 65. Great friendly staff. Good price.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us about your recent stay with us here at the Clarion. I was sorry to read that you experienced issues with us during your stay here at the Clarion. After reading your comments, I will make sure that the maintenance staff cleans all the locks to the rooms so that this does not become an issue for someone else. I will also have them check the heating and air in the rooms on the 6th floor as well. The hotel is conveniently located close to shopping and many restaurants and to downtown Columbus and Nashville and Bloomington Indiana. I was glad to read that you found the rooms to be clean and our staff to be friendly.

weekend visit

Posted Jan 6, 2015
Pros: Definitely the pool and hot tub. I rarely find an indoor pool that is warm enough. They definitely fit the bill. :o)
Cons: Better quality towels at the pool.
Location: I recommend Arni's in town, amazing in-house alfredo.mmmm! And the indoor playgound helped when it was snowing outside. Wonderful facility!
My kids and I really enjoyed your facilities. We didnt have many problems at all. Our only compaints were: 1. The towels by the pool were very small and thin, they did not last long...but the pool was so warm and we loved the hot tub. 2. I had problems with the heater in my room. At midnight the heat went out and I couldnt fix it. My kids were asleep so I called the front desk and asked them how to turn it off. This was suitable until checkout the next morning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us about your recent stay with us here at the Clarion Hotel. I have to agree with you that the pool towels are a little on the thin side. We keep the temperature of the water of the pool at 89 degrees. This makes it nice for our guests. I am sorry that you experienced issues with the heat in your room. Arni's is a great place here in town and the Commons playground does provide a great place for the kids to go to get out of the weather. Hopefully when you are in the area again you will choose to stay at the Clarion.

An okay place to stay

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: Nice indoor pool area with small putt putt area and pool tables. Very well decorated for Christmas. The breakfast buffet was good.
Cons: NEW BEDS! The mattresses on the beds were very hard so we didn't sleep well.
Location: Very convenient location. Lots of restaurants nearby and a Walmart and Menards across the Highway.
The beds were super hard. The room could have been cleaner. The front desk lady looked a little bummed out when we went to check out. She wasn't rude but could have definitely been a little more upbeat/professional. On the bright side, the breakfast bar was good and the hostess was very pleasant. The pool looked good although we didn't have time to use it before we left. The nightly rates for this hotel are very reasonable but I would rather pay a little extra for the Hampton Inn in Taylorsville for more comfortable beds and cleaner rooms.

I was sorry to read that you found the beds to be super hard. I have to say that most of our guests enjoy the comfort of the beds. Anyway, I am still sorry that you did not have an enjoyable stay due to the bed. I was glad to read that you enjoyed great service from the restaurant for your breakfast. Glad that the hostess was more friendly than the lady at the Front Desk. The hotel does offer a lot of great amenities and we always try to have the hotel decorated well for the holidays. Once again, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.

OK but not great

Posted Dec 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
The first room we were assigned was next door to a couple with a dog that would not stop barking. The staff was very accommodating and switched rooms right away. Bed and pillows weren't the best but overall, it was a good stay.

I was sorry to read that you experienced issues during your stay here at the Clarion with a barking dog being in the room next to you. I was glad to read however that our staff was able to make it right and get you moved to another room right away. I am sorry that you did not like the pillows. Our guests either like or hate the pillows and we provide both soft and hard pillows on each bed to try and offer something for each traveler. I hope that overall that you enjoyed your stay and will consider staying again at the Clarion.
