Clarion Inn - Columbus, IN

Pros: Great rooms and wonderful breakfast
Location: It's 20 minutes from Brown County and the lovely little town of Nashville, IN. Columbus's downtown is wonderful with great shops and architecture.
The Clarion in Columbus, IN is the hotel I prefer when traveling to Columbus for work. It has great amenities, it's very clean,the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is Awesome!

I agree with you that our hotel offers great amenities and our staff is friendly and they work very hard to keep the hotel clean and inviting for our guests. The hotel is conveniently located 20 minutes from Nashville, Indiana and lovely Brown County and downtown Columbus does have a lot to offer with shops and restaurants and architecture. nice place but old and worn in the rooms and pool

they advertise a continental breakfast but did not have it. We had to drive to the next exit for breakfast. I don't know of any place that expensive that doesn't serve a continental breakfast.

The issue of the continental breakfast sometimes is an issue. It does state on our website that the hotel offers a continental breakfast. We do offer a free continental breakfast Monday through Friday. A continental breakfast is only available to Choice Silver, Gold and Platinum members on the weekends and then the hotel charges a price for the breakfast to all other guests. This is very confusing for our guests, as I am aware, but that is the policy of the hotel in regards to the breakfast. You had also stated that the rooms and the pool area needs to be updated. The pool side rooms and all rooms on the first floor were updated back in 2008, but the rest of the rooms in the hotel have not been updated. As for the pool area, in recent years we have added the fence, game room and business center and new pool furniture has also been purchased. I hope that you will consider staying at the Clarion again when you are in the area.

Nice Hotel, Great location

Location: The hotel was near a large strip mall area and right off of 465.
This was a nice hotel and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

You are correct in that the hotel is located just 7 miles from a large outlet mall (Edinburgh Premium Outlets). This outlet mall draws guests from all over the country and we are glad that you enjoyed both the outlet mall and your stay with us.

Spacious rooms and great breakfast buffet

Only problem was odor of mold in bathroom. Clean, Nice room, friendly staff, huge pool and all the conveniences of a conference center, plus a great breakfast buffet included for only cost of the gratuity. Enjoyed our stay for one night.

I was sorry to read that you had an odor of mildew in the bathroom of the room that you stayed in. We will be looking into that and correcting the problem. Our Executive Housekeeper bleaches the tubs and bleaches or replaces the shower curtains on a quarterly basis, so I am certain that she will take care of and remedy this problem. I am glad that everything else was great for your stay and that you enjoyed the conference center and the breakfast buffet. I hope that if you are ever in the area again, that you will choose to stay with us here at the Clarion again.

I was sorry to read that you experienced problems during your stay with us. The hotel is a little out of date in some areas, but we have plans to make improvements in the near future. We were experiencing problems with the elevators not wanting to close correctly during your stay and that problem has been corrected. I hope that you will allow for us to make improvements and choose to stay at the Clarion the next time that you are in Columbus.

Great hotel for kids

Pros: The breakfast was great. The pool area and the ping pong and pool tables were awesome.
Cons: The hotel said they don't have free breakfasts on the weekends. The listing on Expedia states Free Breakfast is included. This is a confusion.
Location: Softball diamonds.
We had a few issues, however, the staff was great and took care of everything. The first issue was when we checked in, there were dirty bath towels still hanging on the back of the bathroom door. We had to wait a while, but the staff brought us new towels. The last morning we were there, the door lock went bad. I was not able to get back into the room and my wife and kids could not get out. I reported this and the staff took care of this problem immediately. Two kind maintenance workers and the manager opened the door within 10 minutes. The manager took care of the cost of our room for the night. He told us to call Expedia and explain what happened. He said they would call him, and he would confirm. Everything worked just like he said. It went very smoothly. Our two kids loved the facilities. The pool area was a hit. My youngest loved the putting green. The laundry room was great for the softball uniforms. The fitness facility was very nice. Even though we had a few incidents here, I would definitely stay again.

I was sorry to read that you experienced some problems during your recent stay with us, but was also happy to read that our staff was quick to find solutions to your problems. I am glad that your children enjoyed all the extra amenities of the hotel (putt-putt area, pool, hot tub, pool tables, ping pong tables and game room). It is nice to have a guest appreciate the Guest Laundry facility. I am sure that it does come in quite handy for those guests traveling with ball teams. The breakfast is a confusing issue. Monday through Friday the breakfast is complimentary, but on Saturdays and Sundays there is a cost for the breakfast unless you are a Silver, Gold or Platinum Choice Privileges member. I will be checking into what is listed on the Expedia site about this to make sure that the information is listed correctly. We hope that you will stay with us again when you are in the area.

Nice place to stop about halfway through my trip

Pros: Great breakfast!
Location: For me, it's close to the highway and Starbucks
Room was clean. Nice to be able to get a glass of wine to take in! WiFi worked well.

I would like to thank you for the nice comments that you made about our hotel from your recent stay. The staff works very hard to keep the hotel clean and well maintained. It is a great perk for the hotel to have a full-service restaurant and bar/lounge on site that enables our guests to come in from a long drive or meetings to just unwind and enjoy themselves. I am glad to see that you enjoyed the breakfast that the hotel offers. I think that it is the best breakfast on the market today as compared to other hotels.
