“needs massive renovation”

The mattress was old and worn, torn wallpaper in the bath, "gunk"on inside of window. but the worst was maple syrup on the nightstand and all over the TV guide! Not like any Crowne Plaza I have ever visited!

“We will probably stay next year for Equine Affaire and the Quarter Horse Congress”

The only thing I had a problem with was the noise from the highway. Even that probably would have been OK if the fan would continue to run, but that kept going on and off and added to the noise. If we stay again I would ask for a room away from the highway. Also you need fans in the bathrooms.

“Can't sleep? Blame the bed and the allergies!”

The price was right on this hotel and I trusted the Crowne Plaza name - which I won't do again. The staff are wonderful - unfortunately nothing else is. There is a stench of mold/mildew everywhere you go. There was mold in our shower on the ceiling. The a/c units are apparently original to the building -- so they are loud, ineffective and blow out more spores -- every time we turned it on we began sneezing, eyes were watering -- and we typically don't have these issues. The level of dust visible in the air conditioner could be at least part of the culprit. The 2nd night we cracked the window and just let be the air circulation. The bed... was hideous. We had a king bed. I'm 5'7" and it was below my knees in height. Old mattress, dirty duvet cover and 4 very flat, awful pillows. We asked for more pillows, they brought 3 and this STILL was not enough. The mattress sags and really, the allergies combined WITH the bed made for 2 miserable nights of very little sleep. Internet is free, but you have to sit at a desk -- you can't sit in the chair or on the bed... it's wired with a very short cord. I wanted to love this place, was hoping it would be our 'go to' hotel in the area because the surroundings are great -- a grocery store, restaurants and easy access to any part of the city. Unfortunately the visible mold and achy back bed ensure we can never stay here again.

“Not what I expected”

This might be the visit that causes me not to use Expedia unpublished rates next time. It wasn't horrible, but our last hotel stay was much more enjoyable. It's just nice to know what quality of hotel to expect. We found a pair of socks from a previous guest and the shower drain was very slow. I'm sure these are two very common complaints. You

“It was great”

This hotel was really nice! The rooms were large, comfortable bed, clean. The pool and the hot tub weren't as nice or as clean as the room. I would definitely stay here again. The area it was in seemed nice as well.
