“Bad neighborhood”
I didn't realize that it was in such a bad area. We had a bum knock on our window for money. Also didn't realize that it was a motel. It looked nicer inside in the pictures than in real life. The staffr was nice just hard to understand.
“Not impressed”
The room was very small, toilet ran constantly, faucet was falling out of the wall, not very clean... But for what I paid for it, it probably came out even.
“Broken door jamb”
The door frame into my room was broken - it looked like someone had kicked the door in at one time. Unfortunately, it was late and I didn't have time to find another room. I was able to get the dead bolt locked but I was not comfortable the entire night. Also, the signal on the TV was weak so the stations were limited.
“One of the worst hotel stays we've ever experienced”
This is pretty easy to sum up: 1. The room smelled like old cat pee, which only got worse when the 200-year-old heater was running. 2. There was one un-broken drawer in the dresser. 3. The tub felt like I was going to fall through to the basement. 4. The head of the bed was like a human pothole. We had to switch around and sleep at the foot because the entire head of the bed was sloped down on an obviously broken frame and ancient mattress. The staff was friendly. The room was cheap. There's a McDonald's almost in the parking lot. Other than that, not many redeeming qualities - a pretty awful hotel.
“They put all the broken items in one room.”
Electronic key worked intermittently, alarm clock broken, dead bolt not working, water faucet loose on sink. However, the hotel staff was efficient, the location was great and the price was right. Stay here for convenience and price not for luxury.
“"Not Impressed - Moldy Room"”
We arrived at Days Inn and initially it was what we expected - 2 star quality at best. When we got to our room, it smelled horrible and we discovered MOLD all over the bathroom ceiling. I called the front desk and they told me to come over and pick up a new room key. The desk clerk did not apologize for placing us in the moldy room, didn't send anyone to address the mold (to my knowledge), and didn't acknowledge that there was a problem. Our second room was much better (aka, clean). This is a cheap, two star hotel and you get exactly what you pay for. My only other disappointment with the hotel was the location. It is classified as being in the "university district" and I think that's a bit of a stretch. We were going to an event at Ohio State's Schottenstein Center and even though Days Inn says it's 3 miles away, the cab ride each direction was $20. Had I known that, I'd have taken the extra $40 (roundtrip cab fare) and stayed at one of the nicer 3.5 star hotels on campus. Overall, would not recommend this hotel. It's cheap and let's just say you pay for what you get.......
“Good place to stay for the price”
This hotel was very convenient to the Ohio State Fairgrounds where we were showing our horse. Our room had a somewhat stale cigarette smell about it, I had requested a non smoking room. Also, the pool was closed but we were given a slip to swim at the pool at the hotel next door. The free breakfast was danishes and muffins, juice, coffee. Overall, for the price it was a good deal.
“Not worth what I paid for it!”
I thought by paying a little more than the bargain price I would get a little more but I was wrong! First of all I asked for a non-smoking room but did not get. The room smelled of smoke so bad I couldn't hardly stand it. The TV didn't work and when I called the front desk to report the problem they said they would send someone up but never came. When we checked in I asked for a wake up called which never came and also the alarm clock in the room did not work either (good thing I set my cell phone alarm). The breakfast choice was very slim pickins' Was not satisfied with my stay at all good thing it was only for the night. The only thing good was the shower had good water pressure and was spacious.
“Low end Budget Hotel”
Check-in and check-out were the best part of the trip. After not getting any helpful suggestions on where to have dinner from the desk clerk, we were left to drive around a city we did not know in order to find a good restaurant. We drove for over a hour and finally found an Applebee's. When we got back to the hotel and turned in for the night, we tried to leave a wake-up call for the next morning. The phone call to the front desk was never answered. It was left to ring MANY times. W waited until later, thinking that maybe the night crew would be there to answer the phone. When we called back, we got a busy sigbal for the rest of the night (maybe someone either turned the phones off or left the receiver off the hook). Good thing one of our guys is a light sleeper. The next morning, the FREE contintental breakfast consisted of juice, coffee or tea and pastries (old) and apples. What a way to start the day. But, we should have known better than to expect anything more. I was so frustrated when I phoned to make the reservation cause the desk clerk couldn't understand me nor I him. That's why I went to expedia and I'm not sorry I did. Good work you guys. But I don't think we will stay there on our next visit to Columbus. Nuff Said! 3/27/2011
“Close to Clinton”
It is as expected for a freeway adjacent motel. The only thing that stood out is that they say breakfast is included and the offerings were VERY sparse.
