Nice hotel but a few things are left to be desired

We checked in for a night at this hotel. It was not a bad deal and I would go again, but I didn't like a few things: 1) There was spilled coffee in the elevator when we checked in at 9:30pm. The following morning at 9am, the spilled coffee was still there. 2) Our door made a horrible noise whenever it was opened or closed. We were with 3 kids 6 and under and any noise wakes up these kids. We went downstairs to request WD-40 but the hotel staff said they didn't have any and said that the maintenance staff wouldn't be coming in until the morning--after we'd check out. So we had to endure a noisy door. 3) The water pressure (both for the sink for washing things and for the shower, naturally) leaves much to be desired. I'm at another hotel as I write this and the pressure is so much better. At this hotel, it was like being rained on. 4) The WiFi wasn't so great, and simple web pages (like Expedia--yes, really) would take awhile to load. The pros: the beds were amazing. So comfortable. My 8 month old couldn't stop rolling around on them and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They also had a crib set up for her when we got there with a little toy for her to keep. The staff was courteous. The continental breakfast was nice, but typical of most continental breakfasts.

Room smelled like stale cigarettes.

Pros: Location close to our designation.
Cons: Tell travelers if your perks of the hotel don't work before making reservations.
Room was cold when we first walked in. It really smelled of stale cigarettes. Couldn't figure out why there was so much noise in the room. Someone had left the window open behind the curtians all night. When I told the Hotel staff the next morning. They were less than interested since we booked through Expedia. We came to relax and use the pool and hot tub. This is the reason we picked out this hotel to stay at. The pool was ice cold. No towels to use. The hot tub had tape strung across it saying out of order. The hotel staff did not care about our concerns. Went to get hot coffee off the coffee bar in the lobby. No reg coffee available.

Arrived an hour after check in time. They said rooms aren't clean I could wait there. I told them I would be right back ran to the store for 39 mins comeback still not ready. I waited in my car and called corporate. After almost two hours my room was ready but only because I called corporate. The said they had two call offs from house keeping and that they were sold out and not use to being so busy. I understand but I paid months in advance I needed to get ready and I missed 2 hours of something I paid a lot of money to see and do. I also missed quality time with friends and family. This was Friday I can't imagine that they had that many dirty rooms to clean from Thursday. To add to the matter the manager told me that corporate thought I was a Marriott member and that's why they were so concerned .. Once they found out I booked through Expedia It wasn't as important.. He said you are still a paying customer so we will take care of you ... Seriously!!! Wow! Other than that initial problem everything was fine. Nice room, breakfast very nice. Just will never stay with a Marriott group hotel again.

Do not get placed in a room near the pool.

The stay was awful. We were put in a room that was on the first floor near an outside exit, a stairway, the ice machine, and the pool. We heard doors slamming all the way up to midnight, then again first thing in the morning.

Very nice affordable hotel within range of downtow

Stayed here for an event downtown. Is on the outskirts but right off interstate so you can access downtown quickly. Very affordable and staff was nice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. My wife likes a hot tub. Unfortunately theirs was down.. Only disappointment. Also close to casino as well if that's your thing. Would definitely stay here again next time in Columbus

Buckeye weekend!

It was a great weekend for Buckeye football! The staff at Fairfield were theven best! Hotels.com did not reserve my room properly and the staff were able to correct the issue and find us a room and granted the same price I was quoted through hotels.com. I would definitely book this hotel again while in Columbus.

Very nice room. Pleasant staff. Good buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc. Having a good in-motel breakfast saves about $20 off the price of the room. Very conveniently located off the highway with lots of restaurants nearby for dinner.

Awesome Hotel Stay!

This was a last minute business trip. I researched six hotels within this neighborhood and the Fairfield Inn was a Great choice. I made my reservation at 8:30pm the night of the stay. The front desk was pleasant to deal with and the room was very clean and comfortable. I normally don't have breakfast at the hotels, however I would rate this hot breakfast very good. It wasn't the typical cereal and sweet rolls. The front desk was very attentive at check out and very appreciative of my comments.
