Hampton Inn and Suites Columbus Hilliard

Stayed at this Hampton during a Memorial Day baseball tournament. The location was only 10 minutes from the park and was close to restaurants and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable and parking was not a problem.

We were not at all pleased with the security of the room. The door did not shut snugly against the frame. It allowed alot of light to filter in around the frame and there was alot of movement in the door even after it was closed and dead-bolted. It appeared it would have been very easy for someone to break into the room. I even pushed a chair in front of the door before I went to bed.

Nice motel, usually only stay at Hamptons because of cleanliness, this one did not disappoint! Got a great rate!

This hotel is undergoing renovations that should be done in December of 2012- it will then be an outstanding place to stay. They had the lobby area torn up while I was there, but you could tell they were on their way to an excellent finish-

The only reason we stayed here was to be near family residing in the area. The hotel was clean but rooms very dated and in need of refurbishing. Couldn't believe the streaky painted ceiling in our room though, which looked like it had been recently, very badly painted. The breakfast waffles were awful, as was the watery oatmeal. There was fresh fruit and cold boiled eggs at breakfast though, as well as cereals, so it was edible. That's the best I can say. It was cold when we were there and the room heating/cooling unit was very noisy. Also, the room air was very dry to the extent that it made us wake with sinus pain in the middle of the night. We bought a portable humidifier and ran that 24/7 until we departed and that helped a lot. In all it was an OK hotel but nothing special at all.

Looks nice, but you could hear people in the next room talking. Not loud, softly but plain as day. The smells that came over from thier bathroom were so bad we had to leave. This hotel is not built properly to insulate you from the rooms next to you. Stayed on the 4th floor. Febreeze is also used throughout according to management. Hilton policy.

It was nice but expected more for the money.

Overall.....everything was wonderful. I'm a bit of a clean freak and was happy to see that Hampton cleans the duvet covers prior to every visit! Yeah! We don't stay at hotels very often and were very impressed with the breakfast! Staff was very helpful with directions around town when we noticed that certain main highways were closed for construction.
