“Not good for a family of 5!”
We have 3 young children, and when we made the reservation, my husband asked the person if we could have a rollaway - they said depending on the location, they all have different policies, it might not be ok, but since it is for a child, it should work out. When we checked in, we were told we could not have a roll away, period, and were offered NO OTHER OPTIONS! What were we to do, have a child sleep on the floor. It was unbelievable. There is no reason that a small bed could not be placed in our room - there was a clear aisle. The woman at the front desk was not pleasant and just said, NO - it was a fire code, no exceptions. I was very unhappy with the service and options when I have a 9 year old and 5 yr old twins. We would not stay at a Holiday Inn again. The food was very below average as well - the eggs are breakfast were powdered eggs. Yuck!
“4 people 1 bed”
I booked a room for 4 people and specified that I needed 2 beds. When we checked in, I was given a room with 1 king bed. We had to get a roll away bed and one person had to sleep on the floor. When talking with the staff to see if there was a way we could rectify this situation the manager on duty was not helpful and had a bad attitude. They bascially told us tough, and left it at that. They did not offer to do anything for us to make us more comfortable. I would not stay there again.
“Worst Place to stay ever”
Won't honor the reservation as made. Smelly room, sleep number bed won't work. AC was loud and won't maintain a temperature. Just a terible place to stay. Avoid at all costs.
“One change”
If they give you a room near the entrance / exit ask to be moved - very load other guest coming in and out of the door was hard to get to sleep.
“Great location, great service”
My family and I had a great experience at this hotel. They had a wedding party and a convention going on while we stayed there, yet, they went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed (delivered microwave and fridge to our room as soon as they were available). The location of this hotel is also pretty nice as it is central to various activities in Columbus. Will stay there next time
“Great Hotel in Beautiful Worthington”
Worthington is a beautiful small town just outside of Columbus. There is just enough to do in Worthington Square to feel the mid-western quaintness and relaxed atmosphere. I absolutely love Worthington Hotel happy hour with its ahi poke appetizer to go with my ale. Columbus, a progressive city, is just a short drive away. With Short North district, there are enough boutiques, art galleries and diverse restaurants to spend the whole day leisurely. Drive a little further and you'll come to the state capitol. This requires another day of leisure to really appreciate its history. For the price, this hotel is great and conveniently located to nearby attractions. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and the menu has good selections for a small restaurant.
“Great stay for the money”
Excellent value but be aware that some rooms are not accessible by elevator and involve steps
“wedding blues”
I booked a room for my parents to stay in so they could attend my niece's wedding. They checked in on Friday afternoon before the rehearsal dinner. They are both in their 80's, they had a hard time finding their room and no assistance was offered. There was some kind of Coast Guard convention going on and their room was directly across the hall from the hospitality suite. Saturday they said they slept very little because of the noise.
“Very Pleasant stay and nice clean rooms”
Thought it was a little strange that to access the indoor pool area, we had to go down long hallways past open doors where banquets were being held.....it was a little strange and felt like we were intruding. Otherwise the hotel was a very pleasant place tto stay and the room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable too.
“Satisfactory Stay”
This is a deceptively large hotel with long wings of rooms. Two problems kept this stay from rating above "average" or "satisfactory" -- first, the climate control was very uneven in the hotel. Some areas were very warm and others areas were very cool. Our room was in the "very cool" category, and required the constant use of the heat in order to remain comfortable. The second issue was that I was never able to contact the front desk for a wake-up call. Repeated attempts to call the front desk resulted in ringing, unanswered phone calls. I don't know if the problem was our room phone or was indeed at the front desk, as others we knew who were staying there were able to get a wake up call. Thankfully the alarm clock worked, but this was still an annoying inconvenience.
