Pros: From the moment you walk in until check-out, I find the Hyatt Place makes me feel like I'm the only person they wish to assist!
When it comes to travel, I look for a home away from home. The Hyatt Place always delivers!

Pros: Staff was extremely friendly, quick check in and no problems at all.
Cons: The entire breakfast thing - you're either going to provide a good breakfast, or don't do it. Seriously, the breakfast on the weekend was awful!
Location: Easy access to I-270, RT23, and Columbus. Great seafood restaurant around the corner.
I have stayed at this hotel probably half a dozen times in the last two years. While the staff has consistently been extremely good, the overall look and feel of the hotel has declined over time, such that it is more of a Holiday Inn or Best Western than a Hyatt. We were there during a weekend in which a soccer team was staying at the hotel. It was packed. The lobby and eating area cannot handle such a big crowd, nor could the kitchen staff. To accommodate the crowd, they served eggs, sausage and fruit for breakfast. I would conservatively say it was the worst hotel food/meal I have ever had. The eggs were powdered, cool, and flavorless. The sausage was worse. Fruit was gone, no plates, no glasses. I completely understand the crowd challenge, but I think they could have, as a Hyatt, done much better. It just isn't good enough.

One night stay for a conference.

Pros: Clean, large room with nice work space. Bed was very comfortable. Quiet.
Cons: There is a nice selection for breakfast, but I prefer eggs alone (not on muffins, etc.) An option for plain old hard boiled eggs would be nice.
The conference hotel was sold out, so I looked for another option close-by. I had recently stayed at this hotel when it was arranged by another organization for a previous business trip, so I knew it was nice. The Hyatt is much nicer than the conference hotel and not significantly more expensive than the negotiated conference rate at the sold-out hotel. The rooms are huge, with a nice sitting area and work desk space set apart from the bed/bath area. This will definitely be my preferred hotel when needing to stay in this area in the future.

Should be better.

Pros: The room layout and bed.
Cons: Repair the baseboard trim. See that the maid service leaves all the personal care items that are typically available in a hotel room.
Location: The location is a good one when the roads aren't under major construction which is going on now.
Room 411 needed repair or replacement of baseboard trim under the refrigerator. The baseboard was hanging down. There was no body lotion or shower cap provided in the room. I requested lotion by going to the front desk and received it but those items should be in the bathroom.

Hyatt Rocks

We are loyal Hyatt customers and have always enjoyed the amenities of this level of the Hyatt hierarchy. The traffic pattern to access the hotel, however, was complicated at the time of our stay by substantial road construction by the city. Otherwise, our stay was pleasantly uneventful.

Excellent and friendly staff

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It is excellent! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast had a nice variety and was good. I have plans for staying in Columbis again next month and I will definitely be checking here first.

Quite a smell

The air conditioning left the room with a mildew smell that was overwhelming for me. The air conditioning needed to be on, but i kept it as low as I could. That helped - but i think that whole area of the room was just "wet". I will admit - I didn't complain as the rest of my family had already unpacked by the time I finished checking in and we were only there for one night.

Clean and Cozy

Very, very nice, if I am ever in the area again I would definitely stay here again, very nice neighborhood, lots of restaurants around and a cinema within walking distance. Easy access to the interstate.

Big Comfortable Suite

The staff welcomed us and gave us a brief tour of the at check in. The suite was big and the bed very comfortable. If I ever need to go back Columbus this is where i will stay. The only draw back is all the road construction surrounding the area.

Enjoyable stay - just a few quirks.

The layout of the room is a little strange - with the lounging area of the suite not quite separate from the sleeping area - and the TV is shared between the two rooms. The tub is rather small, and the only redeeming factor is the curved shower rod, which is great for taking showers but an actual sit-down bath is not comfortable. Having the sinks out in the sleeping area is unique but I still am not sure how I feel about that. The amenities are plenty and easy, plus the TV has hookups for just about every media input plug type that you can imagine, so that is nice. I liked the lounging area with the couch, ottoman, and desk - in addition to the counter area with the coffee/tea maker, small refrigerator and microwave - very nice to keep snacks in for weary road-trip travelers. The beds are a little hard but still very nice - with very fluffy pillows and soft linens. Great temperature control in the room. Pretty nice place overall - would stay there again (and would bring a A/V cord). Very very quiet at night. They have a great staff, too!
