Knights Inn in Westerville OH

Posted Jul 14, 2010 on Hotels.com
It was right across the street from a Baymont Inn which was much more costly. Bay.I was the sponsored hotel for an event I was in 4 mi. away.,, but I am very glad I saved money and went with the Knoghts Inn. My only complaint is the bedcover didn't fit the King-size bed; it was just over it, not snuggly fitting it. ... AC and shower were great. NO pool or internet, which Baymont did have. It was walking distance to Fazoli's, which was nice.

Bed Bugs, Peeling Wallpaper, Rotting Toilet

Posted Nov 20, 2009 on Hotels.com
I have never had a more terrible experience with a hotel stay. I stayed here because it was very close and convenient to my home for the few days I needed off for work. The first room I was given was an end unit. As we're walking up, there is a stranger walking up along side of the building who doesn't say a word and scares me (for being a young female, I didn't think it was the right choice for a room, as far away from the office as I could get). I then get in the room, the wallpaper is literally peeling off everywhere, the fridge doesn't work and there is no microwave like promised. The inside of the toilet looked like it hadn't been washed in months. I was going to just swallow my pride and deal, but when I went to plug my charger in for my phone behind the lamp, there was so much debris, trash and goop, I couldn't do it. I called the front office and apologized and asked for a new room. He said yes and to come up to the front office. I had 4 heavy bags. He met me half way, and helped me carry my bags, but I had to walk all the way to another building and way in the front as opposed to the back I was currently in. Again, the fridge didn't work, I had to mess with it to get it work, and there was no microwave as promised. Had to request they go get one for me. i ignored the disgusting toilet in the room and the wallpaper still peeling off the wall. The internet connection was so terrible. They said it would be a good connection and it kicked me off ever 5 minutes and I would have to re-establish my connection. There were more than 10 burn holes in the comforter on the bed, bigger than cig. burns, more like cigar burns. The continental breakfast consisted of a whole bagel and cream cheese. Shouldn't be called a continental breakfast. Theh Baymonnt Inn (which I would've stayed at it if they weren't booked) has so much better accomidations and the breakfast is out of the this world so I would tae advantage of their ideas. Upon leaving the room (this was my 3rd stay there over the weekend that month), I left my phone charger in the room. I called the next day to check on it and make sure it was there so that I may charge my phone (as it was completely dead). I called Knights Inn, they said I could come see what they had, and none of the chargers that they had matched my charger. It costs me 36.00 to replace that. Also, I came home and I had bed bug bites. Big red bites from bed bugs, clearly from the room I was staying in and it's filth. My guest for one night also had them on his body. So we know they came from this Knights Inn. I have never been so disguested in my whole entire life with a stay I've had. I occasionally like to get away from my home for the weekend, somewhere near my home, and this was my first stay here (for a couple diff weekends this month), and i can tell you, I won't ever go it again. Again, the Baymont offers so much better service and the rooms are clean. I would have stayed there as usual (next door) if a room would have been available, but none were. I I don't expect much, I know what I'm paying and know what hotel rooms consist of. I don't need room service, or robes or anything of that nature. I WOULD HOWEVER expect the room to be clean and to not have received bed bugs bites (4 total all over my body and my boyfriend having received 2 on his body from a couple hours). There was severly peeling wallpaper and rotting toilets from somewhere you pay per night. I hope that something is done to fix this place or even shut it down. No one deserves to stay in filth like this. I was utterly embarrased. After I left, I was told it was known for it's prostitution ring among the cops in Westerville, and if I would've known this (which I feel like is somewhat my responsibility and somewhat the responsibility of the booking party I can in fact listen to the honewt so all is good. Again, I wasn't asking much but a quick little personal getaway for the weekend, but even at my standards, this room was completely and utterly disgusting. I expect a full refund for the time I spent there. No one should have to suffer those conquences We were stuck there for. Kept waiting for somemone to clean my room in the morning to provide fresh towels, to change my sheets and my trash. I never received that services. Please don't put anyone through this process and experience, no matter what they may be used to. I grew up in Westerville and know this area back and front, so I wanted to stay in westerville for my time off work and for an escape. This however, would NEVER be the place again I would recommened. Now we have bed bug bites that look like huge misquito bites and we're not sure if we brought them home to kids. Are a hassle, itch, room wasn't clean, appliances didn't work right, had to switch rooms, and just don't feel in any way, shape or form I should have to pay this charge whatsoever for the terrible disgusting service I received.

Needs Updated

Posted Oct 28, 2009 on Hotels.com
For the price, just a place to sleep. Needs to come out of the 80's,whole place needs renovated, lens on the light over the sink was out of the ceiling, broken grill on heater, tub faucets dripped all night. Basically not maintained very well, firniture was all scratched up and delapidated. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Like others have said, the only good thing was the front desk person, very helpful and polite.

Last Resort

The first room I was given was not clean (beds not made, towels on the floor, etc); The room I stayed had dirt on the floor, dirty walls, much of the room was damaged (broken plastic, trim boards, etc)--- in the morning there was no HOT water. No attempt by management to make the situation right --- will never stay there again.

House Keeping

Posted Apr 2, 2009 on Hotels.com
They did not clean the rooms very well. I had to ask for the sheets to be changed daily. The only thing they did every day was vacuum, and change the trash. They were really bad about restocking the toilet paper and tissues. I give the housekeeping staff a big thumbs down.

Needs Improvement

Posted Nov 6, 2008 on Hotels.com
This is an aging hotel in need of modernization. While the beds were comfortable and the location was what i needed, it was not an impressive place to stay even for the price. While i did not worry about sanitary conditions, the shower had no pressure, and the radiator was broken. The lighting was poor and the hotel would seem to have perminant residents.

This hotel was so disgusting and nasty, I would recommend that Hotel.com not refer this hotel to their patrons.

VERY good for the price

Posted Aug 6, 2008
This hotel is a great value for the price. Our family of five had the hotel pool all to ourselves Saturday morning. We had a wonderful time splashing and playing in the well-maintain, perfect-for-kids pool. We also took advantage of the free breakfast every morning. It's very basic (bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, juice) and there are no tables, but it saved us lots of money. We were filled up with out going out to a restaurant. The hotel rooms are not the most beautiful or modern, but they were comfortable and the hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We will stay there again on future trips to Westerville. It is half the price of the Hampton. We recommend it highly.

Tired and Run Down

Posted Jul 21, 2008
The hotel has not been renovated in many years and is very abused and neglected. We requested non-smoking rooms and were very aware that people had smoked in the room. There was a moldly smell and the room was not very clean. us. While the clerk tried to be helpful, there was little he could do to help us. If there had been any other vacancies locally, we would have changed hotels.
