Decent place

Pros: Staff was good. Room clean and felt very large, bathroom really nice.
Cons: Lobby
Location: Convention Ctr across the street.
Odd lobby, not very impressive. Actually the Max & Erma's entry, just off the hotel lobby, gave a better feel. Room was nice but the trade-off of open ceiling was hearing every footstep above you. HVAC was very drafty.

My stay at the Lofts.

Pros: I liked the amenities available to me, the location, and the spacious room. I took advantage of the shuttle as well.
Cons: The heating and cooling system should be updated ASAP.
Location: This hotel is centrally located and close to Nationwide Arena, bars, clubs, art exhibits. You would have to be sleeping under a rock not to notice!!
The overall experience was enjoyable. It's proximity to everything was great!

3.5 stars. This is a good hotel but nothing fancy really. The rooms are big but could be laid out a little better. How does a room that big not have a couch? Anyway, it worked out ok for us because we were traveling with a baby so we needed space for the pack and play, jogging stroller and play mat. A normal hotel room would have felt cramped. They advertised valet parking but there is self parking. The valets are often slow so I don't recommend them. My only complaint is that when I arrived after driving 8 hours they should have told me I could leave my car while we checked in an emptied it. Also, the garage is just behind the building in the center of the block. It is in no way connected to the hotel. This hotel is on a weird street of just hotels by the convention center. However it's a short walk to the Arena District and the Short North.

Did Not Meet my "Lofty" Expectations

Pros: The location was ideal. Loft concept is interesting. With improvement, I would consider staying there again.
Cons: I think the improvements can be gleaned from my comments above.
Easy check-in. Declined the key to the minibar. The desk person asked if I used the valet; I told him no. Found my room, which was quite spacious and cool view of lights at night, but the room itself was not well lit, even with four lights on. There was food residue on the desk, spare change under the end of the bed. I was amused to find not one, but two ironing boards in the armoire, which stands in for a closet. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure, but I got a "cold shot" at one point during my morning shower. The towels and bathmat were clean but had ragged edges. The biggest issue I had with the room was the HVAC vent is perpendicular to the bed and blew right onto my head, so I resolved that by simply shutting off the HVAC. I visited the on-premises (sort of) gym. It's in the connecting hotel. Quite small, quite hot. Obviously not checked very often because there were towels thrown on the floor, and there were only a handful of clean ones left. I checked my credit card statement when I came home and discovered a $50 pending charge. When I called to inquire, the person who answered told me that they automatically charge it to cover any incidentals like the valet or minibar useage, and if there aren't any charges, they will be taken off after checkout. Checkout was yesterday morning, so I'll give it one more day and then call back.

Pros: Location, Cleanliness
Cons: Communication between front desk and staff regarding check out and if patrons are still in their rooms.
The only complain that I would have is that someone knocked and then came right into my room from maintenance. They said the front desk said I had checked out (which I hadn't) and they were looking for a remote control.

Unsatisified customer

The hotel states they have a pool, what they fail to mention is the pool is actually in the hotel next door and you are expected to walk outside to get to said pool. Pool is small and temperature of pool is freezing!! Also if you plan to stay at this hotel request a room that is NOT near parking garage. The Valet honks constantly as they drive, this gets annoying in the middle of the night and once you finally fall asleep it wakes you up again early in the morning.

Ignore the pictures

No room looks like the pictures displayed. They are really nice and comfortable. Max and Ermas staff members are absolutely amazing.
