This is a really lovely hotel in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake. We stayed for 3 nights as a base to visit Le Mont St Michel and St Malo. I had my disabled father with me and the room spacious and well equipped for him. The staff were all really helpful. Breakfast was continental and reasonable- I wish they’d had more variety but it was still good. The restaurant for the evening is wonderful and over looks the lake - I would definitely recommend eating at the hotel for an evening meal even if you’re just passing through Combourg. I travel a lot and would definitely stay again at this hotel. Thank you.

Gentleman at reception was extremely helpful. When I explained that my wife had some mobility problems he quickly arranged for a ground floor room to be made available, for which we were very grateful

This was just an overnight stay and i was running late, despite this the staff were very welcoming, warm and friendly and booked me in and allowed us to habe a very beautiful evening meal, fantastic food , beautiful scenery, i cant recommend it enough

No WiFi
I enjoyed my stay and the amount of choice for breakfast was excellent. I didn’t have to use the wardrobes for my short stay but they smelt musty. My only gripe was not having WiFi in my room after being told there was. My room and several others were detached from the Hotel so I would have had to return to the Hotel each time I wanted to use the Internet and use my WhatsApp. Really inconvenient when travelling Solo especially once it was dark and not speaking French. They even typed the Password in for me, knowing it would show WiFi whilst Booking in at the Hotel. No WiFi Once I left the building to go to my room it disconnected. I did mention it the next day and was told I could move to another room when one available . However my room was cleaned everyday and clean towels left each day.

The bedroom was fairly smart but the bed was very uncomfortable and pillows were awful lumpy. Breakfast very mediocre . The evening meal was very good.

Good to be back here
We returned to this hotel after a gap of 30 years. It is still a charming place to stay, and to dine (menus at 22, 29 and 39) - Oyster lovers must try it !!

Tranquille Stay in a lovely setting
This hotel is in the historical part of Combourg literally across the road from the lake. I had cycled from Mortain and it had just started to rain as I arrived. The lovely lady on reception was so welcoming and helpful. It was wonderful to be able to secure my bike in the bike hoops in their large garage and also fortunate to check in early as my room was ready. The hotel was lovely and quiet and close to the historical part of the town, the chateau and the Lac Tranquille. I decided to have dinner at the hotel, and I chose the entrecôte of beef special for €18.90 which included an amuse bouche and starter. It was superb. I chose to have a dessert on top, Cafe de Gourmand which was so nicely presented (pictured)

This was our 2nd visit to the hotel definitely not as good as the first . Room size very different last time we had a large room with aa very large bathroom and a couch in the room. We were there celebrating my husbands birthday . Went to the bar on the Friday night for a drink after our evening meal (which we had in a restaurant in town) Ordered a bottle of wine. Then they tried to close the bar and get rid of us. The staff called the owner who way overreacted saying he was tired etc and we should go to bed. There was a smell of damp throughout the hotel as if they had experienced a flood

The Combourg area is very picturesque. The hotel is quite old and the rooms though updated are small. If you plan on arriving before 3pm you may want to contact the hotel first or you may be turned away until 3. The hotel has an attached restaurant and the food was very good but be sure to make a reservation for your lunch/dinner otherwise you may be turned away. Dining options in town are limited especially during holidays. I found breakfast to be just “okay” but expensive at €11.00 A suggestion to the proprietors would be to have a light meal ( cheese crackers fruit maybe a sandwich ) available to your hotel guest to eat in their room if they cannot be seated in you restaurant.

Take a detour for an enchanted experience.
Delightful setting, a lake at one side and the Chateau de Comburg on the other. Lovely, kind and considerate staff at this hotel. Nice bar and a decent breakfast room. The dining room looked lovely but I did not take dinner.

Nice hotel
Stayed overnight on the way through Brittany from Cherbourg. Nice clean place very convenient for the Château and nearby town centre. Be aware there is no lift in the annexe part we stayed in so you may need to carry luggage up a few flights os stairs. Overall a good place to stop with friendly staff (owners.)

Hotel situated in a Combourg, a fabulous town with lots to see such as the Chateau which it takes it's name from and many places to eat and drink. Our room was in the annexe where we had our own parking and was very well equipped, the breakfast was very good and service excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and visited the Brittany coastal towns and Mont Saint Michele which were only less than an hour drive away. Would recommend to any one visiting this area.

Charming hotel in a charming little town
I enjoyed my stay. Hotel was very friendly and the town was really charming. I stayed in a 2x single 1x double family room. I was comfortable and the bathroom was well done and modern. Staff only speaks a little English but, with my little French there was no problem. I would absolutely stay here again. The hotel, town and castle are all wonderful. A very nice quite break from the busy tourist spots. No problems with Wi-Fi. Plenty of parking. Plenty of places to eat in short walk. Nice little lake next to hotel as well. St Milo and Mont St Micheal 30 min away

Lovely locale, and not "touristy"
I chose this hotel in this location for the crazy reason that it looked like parking a car here would be easy (which thankfully it was). It was my first time driving in a foreign country, and I didn't know what to expect when it came to staying in a village. I had pictures in my head of quaint little one-lane medieval streets and no place to leave my car. Fortunately, this lovely hotel has much more going for it than just convenient parking. It is a charming, welcoming place with a friendly staff and a gorgeous restaurant that I was sorry I was too tired to dine in, because everything they were serving looked heavenly. The room was small but nice, with very nice, updated bathroom facilities including a walk in shower (no wet, sticky shower curtain to contend with!). The hotel is located close to a lovely lake, and sits next door to the chateau. A walk of a hundred yards puts you right in the middle of nice shops and restaurants. Combourg was to be the launching pad for my trip to Mont St Michel the next day, and I wish that I had planned to stay longer, so that I could have had a day to look around Combourg itself. Especially that chateau and its grounds!
