Hotel underconstruction, but in need of overhaul

Posted Aug 10, 2014
The staff was great, dont get me wrong. The condition of the hotel was never mentioned when booking. The windows all had plastic over them for the construction going on outside, the room smelled of cigarettes (in a non-smoking room), the carpet was disgusting, and the safe would not work for us. Besides that, we only stayed there because everything else was sold out for a concert. Would not stay here again.

Poker Heaven

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Beautiful room and all the poker we could afford!
Cons: Renovation completion. VIP valet staff need more training.
Location: Industrial area, not much to do except play cards, but fairly convenient to other LA attractions.
This hotel is currently going through an extensive renovation. Pool is closed and unless your room is on the 9th floor you will probably hear some noise. Fortunately, we did get a room on the 9th and it was very nice. The whole floor had been done very recently and it showed. Staff at reception were extremely nice and welcoming. Valet at the rear VIP area not so much. We missed our turn into the hotel entrance and proceeded to a marked valet lane in the rear and were ignored by the young man in the booth even though he was only 10 feet from us. We parked ourselves with no problem. Make no mistake, this is a poker players hotel so if you don't play cards you might look elsewhere. Room rates are very high considering the construction and lack of amenities. Room service was very nice and deserving of a high rating. Large open shower was beautiful, however a towel rack at the end would have been nice as well as a ledge to put something on. Linens and bed were excellent with lots of nice pillows. You can't find a better poker room for action, however don't expect any greeting or personality from dealers. It's strictly business at the tables. Floor managers (wearing the bow ties...a nice touch) were very nice and made their presence known if needed. Lots of regulars and a general friendly atmosphere amongst the players. We enjoyed our stay very much, but for the money would rather have gone to Vegas.

Close to outlets!

Pros: Staff!
Staff were the best staff I had come across on my whole trip to the US. They went above and beyond! They made up for what the hotel was lacking.

Maybe not for families

Posted Jul 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is located within a casino so the surrounding environment is not always appropriate for children. The hotel is undergoing a renovation so although our room had a window, it was covered making it feel a bit claustrophobic. The biggest complaint however are the pillows. I call them the "non-pillow pillows". They flatten no matter how many you use making it uncomfortable to sleep.

Clean Hotel

Posted May 14, 2014
The hotel was clean, but the staff was not friendly. Construction going on at the time of my stay and I could hear the noise very early the next morning.

Bad Parking, uncormfortable beds

Posted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Forget about getting close to this hotel unless you want to pay for valet parking. You can't even unload your luggage. Depending on where you find a parking space you may have to walk a long way with your luggage. When you do find a parking space make sure no one has vomited in it. The one I had to park in had vibrant red vomit. Nice. The beds are not at all comfortable. This place caters to casino patrons, not hotel guests. As I mentioned there is a casino attached so if you like t gamble then you might like this place. I will never stay here again.
