Property Amenities
The original building was constructed by one of Concord's earliest settlers in 1716. Former residents included Henry David Thoreau before the property was converted to a hotel in 1889. The inn provides a walking guide to the many local Revolutionary War and literary landmarks. On site is a gift shop with postcards, books, maps, and tourist information.
The six function rooms at Concord's Colonial Inn and Suites are individually decorated in Colonial style, and are popular for meetings, banquets, and wedding parties. Multiple dining venues include tearooms, taverns, and full-service restaurants, as well as alfresco seating on the front porch in summer. A high tea with homemade scones, sandwiches, and an assortment of teas is served on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays in the Thoreau Room.
A 24-hour business center is available and complimentary wireless Internet access is offered throughout the hotel. Concord's Colonial Inn and Suites is a smoke-free property.
Rooms
This Concord's Colonial Inn and Suites encompasses several buildings, and each of the 56 guestrooms has a unique character. Rooms are individually decorated in Colonial-era style with hand-picked antiques and reproductions, patterned wallpaper, colorful draperies, and decorative details such as gilded mirrors or quilts handmade by the current owner's wife.
Historic rooms located in the original inn vary in shape and size; some have original post-beamed ceilings, wainscoting, and plank pine floors. Many historic rooms are furnished with four-poster or sleigh beds, and some have decorative fireplaces and views of Monument Square. The Prescott Wing, added to the inn in 1970, features European and Deluxe rooms. Decor leans to New England country style, with striped or patterned wallpaper and wingback chairs. European rooms are on the garden level, while Deluxe rooms offer views of Monument Square.
All rooms feature windows that open, cable TV with premium channels, CD players, and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access (network cards available for rent). Private bathrooms feature a shower/tub combination and complimentary toiletries. Guestrooms are all non-smoking.

Less than two miles from the Concord's Colonial Inn and Suites is legendary Walden Pond, which offers swimming, boating, hiking, and bird watching. The Minuteman Trail, about two miles away, is an 11-mile paved path popular for biking, jogging, walking, and in-line skating. “Room was freezing cold at night.”
Not bad for an inn nearly 300 years old.
“Tired and worn out”
I stayed in a section (Prescott House) that was cinderblock walls - not exactly "Colonial"
“So So”
I had the misfortune of being assigned to Rm 203 which is located at the front of the hotel (street noise at all hours) and on the same floor as the Pub(music until the wee hours).
“Appalling food”
Only stay here if you do not need food. I ordered salmon which came on a bed of soggy pasta swimming in a liquid. And it wasnt cheap. Also you will need your earplugs as it right next to a busy road. Only saving grace was a jazz group that was excellent.
“Quaint and good location”
Hotel room was very small, but to be expected in an historic inn originally built in 1716. Location in downtown Concord was nice and convenient. Parking was free and plentiful. The onsite tavern had live music on 2 of the nights we were there - quirky Jazz band and a folksy duet. Unfortunately, the tavern closed around 11pm both nights.
“Still needs work”
Spent two weekend nights in the older section-- fortunately 2 floors up from the parties, otherwise would be bedlam. Enjoyed the historic ambiance and creaky stairs. Dissatisfied with food quality. Go over the the Concord Depot area of town for higher end cooking (or for pizza and ice cream). For an inn, very little if any personal service touches or recognition that you are a valued client.Insufficient parking on weekends. The location of the inn is great. Suggest the delightful tour of the "Old Manse" just down the road, and "Author's Ridge" in the cemetery nearby.
“Quaint, with an excellent restaurant and location”
The Colonial Inn is wonderful from a historical perspective and the restaurant is superb! We had dinner and breakfast there several times. However, our room was in the "newer" part of the hotel--meaning from the seventies or eighties. The room was a bit small, the beds were small, as was the bathroom. The TV was an older model and the internet didn't work. The decor was in need of renovation. The service was wonderful at the desk, and if you only want to dine at the inn, I would highly recommend it. If you are not fussy about the bedroom, it was certainly acceptable.
“Historical Hotel, fun to stop by, great food there”
Colonial Inn has like 200 years history, the room is small but good enough for people to stay. The building is really old, but I really like that town because it appearly has a long history. What I love about this place is, the restarurant is fantastic, little expensive but I guess it's because there is no other restarurant near that area. Nice to stop by and have dinner and breakfast.
“Colonial Concord”
This is a unique property in location, ambience and historical significance. However, the property needs two things: an elevator to the top floors and stable WiFi. With these two improvements, I would stay at the hotel much more often.
“location location location !!!!!!!”
Great location walked to the Manse and North Bridge and downtown Concord. One breakfast did it for me at the restaurant on property everything dry and over done....eat at one of the places in town.Had problem with A C but they jumped right on it and had it fixed in no time.Front desk people friendly and helpful.
