“Pleasantly Surprised”

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and pleasant this hotel was. I figured for the economical price and location and the independent name, it could be either scary or good... The room bath was recently remodeled and done with granite and marble tile and it was very very clean. The bed was large and soft and the AC was quiet and the room was decently lit unlike those places were they put a 40 watt bulb so that you dont see the dirt... I'll definately consider staying her again.

Was the least expensive option for the area I was visiting, which was very convenient. The guy at the reception desk was genuinely helpful and accommodating. Remembered to ask if I needed Wifi, looked up directions to the nearest World Market, said "no problem" to leave my car out front while I dropped my luggage off upstairs. Even though it was small, the room was well setup.

Affordable and clean with free WiFi in your room. Other, more expensive accomodations typically charge additional fees for an in-room internet connection. The room had a microwave and a good size refrigerator that you can actually use rather than a minibar type of fridge that's tiny and stuffed full of overpriced for-sale itmes that render it useless for keeping your own things cool. The parking lot is well lit and had plenty of spaces available even though the hotel was fully booked. Overall the Pleasant Hill Inn offers good value and a pleasant stay.

Good hotel; convenient location, seemed reasonably safe. Easy to get to Main Street in Walnut Creek, which connects directly to Contra Costa Blvd.

Very good, affordable option. Helpful staff. I picked this hotel based upon the overall reviews and was grateful I did. If you are looking for a place to stay and have basic needs, this is your place.

“Expected more for the price”

I stayed for one night in January 2011. The rate was moderate, so I expected a bit more for the cost. Room was very small, but tidy. The television stopped working properly in the late evening, but because I was already cuddled up for the night, I did not want to hassle having engineering come in to fix it. Pulling back the sheet revealed two dark hairs on the bottom sheet. This disturbed me, so I slept on the upper sheet. Cigarette burn holes in the blankets and cover were less than atheistically pleasing. The heat stopped working in the evening, so I woke up very cold several times during the evening. No extra blankets were provided in the room. The bathroom was reasonably clean - no complaints. The front desk help was polite and helpful on check-in. The noise level was acceptable. If it weren't for the hair, TV and heating issues - I'd recommend it, but with those making the evening so uncomfortable I'd probably not recommend this place to a friend.
