When we arrived we could see that it was a very old property (it looked horrible). The lobby was dark, smelly and univiting. If we hadn't already paid through Expedia we would have found somewhere else to stay. We rang the bell and we watched a man in the back fold towels. When he finished he came to the desk. A lady came from the bathroom and asked our name and proceeded to check us in. She was friendly and maybe the only redeeming aspect of this property. We went to our room which was dismal. No updates, the sheets and towels were old, dingy and gray. There was 1 bath cloth and 2 towels. The sink had no hot water. The toliet was loose. When we checked out and shared feedback a young man said, "You only paid $79." Which was incorrect. And gave us a receipt with a charge of $45 charged to a Master Card. We paid in advance on Expedia and had no idea who or why this charge was on a receipt given to us. We went back in and the friendly lady was there and explained that was a mistake and that our receipt from Expedia was correct. Overall this was not a good experience at all. Disappointing and unacceptable. Perhaps, Choice Hotels should visit properties to ensure they meet standards.
