“Clean Rooms with View and Noon check out time”

Alpine Lodge is a lovely hotel with beautiful views, at least from the front rooms, interior entrances, patio/balcony for each room with table and chairs, spacious room, and nice bathroom (complete with a heat lamp). This was the first non-smoking room I've stayed in that actually did not smell like cigarette smoke! The bathroom was actually clean and stain free. The bed was comfortable with a nightstand on each side. Another nice feature was that there were light switches that controlled each light in the room (minus bathroom) right beside the bed. A recliner/rocker and decent sized tv were also included. A free breakfast is provided in the lobby from 5-10 each morning -- the staff will make waffles for you and there is pretty good variety. Best part: checkout time is noon! Hello, sleeping in! Downsides: no wifi (internet is provided, but you have to have a cable. A booklet in the room suggests you can borrow one from the front desk). Also, it was a little further from Tech's campus than I thought, but not too bad. Overall, I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

“Proud Parent”

I was surprised that this hotel was rated so high in Cookeville compared to others. The decor was old, the walls were so thin I could hear people in the others rooms and in the hallways. The only really good thing in this room was the bathroom that looked newly remodled. The hotel was not dirty or anything like that just older decor. The continetal breakfast was dissappointing. Very small compared to other places I had stayed in Cookeville.
