Check-in involved finding the inn-keeper out back and trying to find the correct room key. It was mislabelled. Room was painted fushia (walls and ceiling). No heat in room (other than portable oil-filled electric heater). It was very clean!

Our disgusting hotel
This was the worst bed and breakfast that I have ever stayed in. It was filthy dirty Dan everything is falling apart the shower was rusty. The owner did not show up for two days so there was no one to complain to. The best is that there were no TVs and Power was lost two storms so if you went to your room early there was no there was no TV and the room was pitch black. As I said before this was the worst hotel ever. It should be condemned.

Not good
From the moment we arrived to when we departed the next day, we saw no one. "Breakfast" in the morning was non existent (cold coffee from the day before). Overall, the room was a dump.....especially the beds. We would not recommend to anyone.

The porch was inviting. Breakfast room bright and airy with a view of the creek. We were moved to a new room, because of overbooking. The second room was decorated like a brothel; sparkly throw pillows scary purple paint, flashy chandelier, the whole nine yards. We won't go back.

Nice bed and breakfast close to Glimmerglass !
We were very happy to find this bed and breakfast just 1 mile and change north of Glimmerglass and not far at all from Cooperstown! The room was comfortable, bed ok, no restaurants in area. Breakfast very nice with many choices. Very lovely staff. We did not use the backyard but it is very peaceful and beautiful. We would return!

This is a popular location for attending Glimmerglass. We enjoyed meeting some folks who have been coming back for years. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was very pleasant. Enjoyed the front porch. Our room was a bit strangely decorated. Very dark, with webs in the corners. Needs a deep cleaning. Bedding way less than hotel quality. Mold in the corner of the bathroom. We might return, but would request a different room.

Peaceful Escape
The Hayden Creek has a babbling brook that runs behind it with songbirds in the trees. They provide a delicious, generous breakfast in a sunroom that overlooks a lush garden. It has a large dining area and a sitting room with a library of books to choose from. The management is friendly and helpful. It's a short drive to the Glimmerglass Opera House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends who are seeking warm, homey accommodations.

Avoid This Hotel
What a disappointment for many reasons. The decor of some hotels can be tired and that is OK, but this place is exhausted. Have they bought anything new in the last 40 years? There is zero charm factor at this place and I question why there are any positive reviews. Weeds are overgrown at the front, it's up for sale, there is an abandoned and crumbling building right next door, it is on and close to a busy street and more negatives. We stayed here because nothing was available in Cooperstown. We would have been far better served driving further and staying in a decent place, rather than this dump.

Take your chances
We we greeted by a note on the side desk. No person. Felt strange with no one to say "Hi, let me show you to your room." On our second night, a person took another persons room because they arrived a day early. The original guest slept on the couch in the entrance. That could have been us. It would have been prevented if there was someone on duty. Ugh. And to get a refund, you have to deal with Hotels.com, and then they have to call the owner, who is off site, and frequently unavailable. I would not stay there again.

Nice host family but the pre-teen children were more friendly and helpful than the adults. Sheets not clean (someone else's hair on my bed!) Didn't realize it was pet-friendly which affected my allergies. Late night coffee/tea would have been nice.

Great value, friendly staff, good food
Compared to other places close to Glimmerglass Festival and Cooperstown, this is a great value. Low cost, great food, comfortable atmosphere are only the introduction to the friendly staff and great service. Debbie and her crew saw to our every need and gave us lots of helpful info on the local scene. She even mailed us the jacket we left in our room. Sure, the front needs painting, but the rooms are homey and the sitting/dining room has a peaceful view of the creek and the inviting back yard. Close to the Glimmerglass Opera house, and minutes from Main Street Cooperstown, the cost is half what you'd pay in town. The Hayden Creek Inn is a good deal. I'll stay there next time.

Charming B&B
This B&B is about 10 miles from Cooperstown. Do NOT use Maps with the address shown here; it will take you to downtown Cooperstown. It is actually in Springfield, but is an easy drive to Cooperstown and on to the Cooperstown Dreams Park where our grandson played baseball. The backyard is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the continental breakfast had many different items; something to please everyone. Our room was large and comfortable and there is free wi-fi.

Charming inn in a cute small town
The INN was exactly as described online. It's very very charming, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was excellent (Waffle iron!), the inn was quite quiet while we were there, and the room was comfortable. It wasn't a luxury hotel by any means, but it was perfect for a weekend away and I loved the atmosphere and environment. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with their large backyard as a definite highlight (creek, bridge, many seating areas, lovely tent with seating for nighttime fun). It was about a 15 minute drive to Cooperstown (the birthplace of baseball) with LOTS to see and do, cute shops and delicious restaurants. We were in town for a concert but it would've been great to have had more time to explore.

Very disgusted.
One of the travelers had to have emergency surgery the day before we were to leave and I tried to cancel our reservations. They would not let me cancel so I had to pay $662 for 2 rooms that we could not use. I consider this terrible customer service and a lack of empathy. We did not want to cancel but had no choice. I would understand a penalty but to be charged full fare, in this situation, is just wrong.

A little too rustic for our taste
Maybe it was just us, but we felt the inn was very rustic. as it really felt like you were camping out in a cabin. I believe Sandra, the inn keeper does aim to please as she would offer to cook eggs any way in the morning. Also , beware the inn is situated right on the road so if traffic noise bothers you it is not a good choice. However it is conveniently located right across the street from the post office. The toilet in our room leaked at the base. There were two women there that had stayed there previously which was a little surprising , but to each his own.

Not what it was suppose to be
I will never recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone, I have never said anything bad about a place, but this place is terrible, the place looks like its ready to fall apart, chairs on the porch falling apart, rooms very disappointed no microwave in my parents room, promise that they will have coffee ready at 6am so my parents went in to check no coffee, he finally came down a little after 7am and was so rude. He was not to friendly at all. For what I paid for the room DISSAPOINTED should refund our money back. The video on the website makes it look out of this world, but in person no way, they should update there video and website.

A great escape
We were up to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame and chose this hotel on a whim. We have two boys (12 & 9) and they just loved the back yard. The stream was the real highlight trying to catch fish and walking along the rocks and for me laying in the hammock. The rooms are clean and have everything you expect in a bed and breakfast. The hosts were just wonderful. Perfectly located and at a great price. The breakfast in the morning had everything you could ask for. A great get away....we will return

Hayden Creek B & B is a clean, quiet and restful place located 10 miles from Cooperstown. The drive is well worth it, as once you get there, it's just plain wonderful. We booked late for a trip to the Glimmerglass opera, and had few choices. The rooms were a bit musty, the furniture ill-assorted and cluttered. The beds were comfortable but squeaky. The breakfast was adequate, but no frills. Not an easy place to like.

Beware.........
We went to check in and had to yell up a staircase to get someone's attention. A small boy in shorts and bare feet came down followed by a man in shorts and no shoes. He gave the little boy the key and sent him to show us the room. When we walked into the room to our surprise the little boy was jumping on a bed and telling us that he slept there the night before. The room was dirty, musty and smelled like mildew. The Inn and the rooms looked nothing like the pictures displayed in their ad on your website. It was so bad we left and did not stay there. I don't know who wrote those rave reviews but they are false. It is a run down house and there isn't a room in the place including the dining room that looks anything like the pictures. I would not use your website again to find a place to stay since you don't seem to verify the information you display.
