Excellent service, excellent (but expensive) restaurant (worth the convenience). Definitely worth it to upgrade to ocean view. Location convenient to Rio attractions. Fantastic view from our room, especially of the sunrise, which was spectacular.
Would have appreciated it if they had a TV station or two in English. The room has a DVD player, but it doesn't play DVDs from outside the region, so if you'd like some entertainment, bring your own.

This hotel main feature is location, location. Can't get any closer to beautiful Copacabana Beach. Included breakfasts were fine with many selections. Lobby and rooms updated to look modern but issues with infrastructure needs attention. Elevator here, toilet there, electronic door keys and little things like that need to be next on list for upgrades. This hotel definitely passes the grade and should be considered if in the price range you are looking for.

Wonderful hotel in great location right on Copacobana beach. Excellent breakfast, everything you could possibly want including champagne! Even when I arrived late one morning just 10 minutes before end of breakfast they were still putting out fresh food. Fabulous service, plenty of staff and plates cleared instantly and coffee constantly refilled. Bedroom comfy, good size and very clean. Pool area great with decent sized pool and lovely views along beach to sugar loaf mountain. Had a great week there and would not hesitate to return. Great hotel

I booked a 4 night trip to Rio before a work period in Sao Paulo. As a solo female traveller, I was slightly concerned about where to stay and decided to opt for the Atlantica. This is a decision that was perfect in every way. I used the hotel chauffeur service from Santos Dumont airport which was great although a little pricey, and on arrival was greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist. On hearing it was my first time to Rio, he upgraded me to a sea view room. He also kindly pointed out good areas to eat and general tips for Copacabana.
I was blown away by my room! All windows facing the sea and it was large, spotlessly clean and had high quality furnishings. I had the breakfast package and it was also great - a huge range of delicious food and if you were lucky enough to get a seat by the window, a fabulous view of Copacabana.
So my few slight complaints:
Paying 10 RS to hire a deck chair
Charging hotel residents 15 RS each time to use the spa
These should've been included in the room price.
I also used the pool and lounge area on the 39th floor. Worth it to take some panoramic photos alone!!
All in all, I had a fantastic stay. Everyone from the bell boys to the receptionists to the waiting staff were friendly, helpful and made my stay memorable for all the right reasons. I fell in love with Rio and will definitely come back and will only stay at the Atlantica!

This famous beach is also the widest beach in Rio. Throngs of bikini- and Speedo-clad locals and tourists take in the sun, as well as a round of beach soccer and volleyball. Copacabana Beach is a popular venue for concerts and a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration where partiers wear white for good luck. The glitzy shops and cafés along Avenida Atlântica provide a welcome respite from the heat.
