Great holiday choice

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: Staff, architecture, location, views, breakfast.
Cons: Booking issues.
We really liked this hotel, despite getting off to a bad start - double booked and taxi'ed to the Crowne Plaza for the first night. The staff handled the situation as well as they possibly could, and various freebies came our way as a result! The great service continued throughout our stay. The rooms are of a high standard, with fabulous thick pine beams that feature throughout the hotel. We had lovely views across the water to Christianshavn, including the impressive Opera House. There is some building work going on in the area currently which detracted a little from the vista. Breakfast was excellent and bar meals good. The hotel restaurant, Salt, was a bit disappointing: more down to personal taste than overall quality. It was also very expensive. The hotel location is great for tourists - a short stroll from various attractions including Nyhavn, Amalienborg and the Little Mermaid.

This is a very busy tourist hotel and so you need to go with the flow in terms of crowds. The staff is very cordial and helpful. This location is great - it is right on a waterfront and you should take advantage a morning wake up or an evening night cap sitting in there out door cafe. If you are traveling with a car, their outdoor parking lot is very convenient. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Great location, walking distance to tourist area

Pros: Good job preserving the old building and conditioning for hotel.
Right besides Nyhavn street with all its atmosphere. A nice walk to the little mermaid statue.

Right on the water and next to construction.

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: Location and style.
Cons: lighter blankets on bed. A down filled comforter in the summer is too much, but there is no other bedding available.
Location: Everything in Copenhagen is within a very short walk.
Hotel is very nice and historic. Set right on the water with a great bar/coffee outside. Very close to Nyhavn and walk to everything in the city. Immediately next to the hotel and on the man made island on the back side is a huge construction project. With no air conditioning in the room you must leave the window or door open on the backside. They start heavy construction at 6:00 am! You don't sleep past that time. Everything else was great.

Hotel with great access to local attractions.

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Special rate; size and cleanliness of rooms and location. Also that staff was very pleasant and spoke English.
Cons: Include breakfast with room rate.
Location: Walking trail along water; Canal cruises.
Hotel rooms were comfortable size and very clean. Easy access to water front walking trails, train station and many of Copenhagen's tourist attractions. Staff was very fluent in English and possibly other languages; all also very helpful with providing direction to local attractions.

Posted Jun 20, 2015
