“Great hotel for price and location!”

The Copenhagen Strand provided a great hotel stay, good value for price paid for hotel room, and fantastic location. The hotel is within 4 block of both Hyhavn restaurants/bars and Kongens Nytorv Metro Station (metro to Copenhagen Int'l Airport) and about 8 blocks from Amalienborg Palace. The hotels open up to the harbor. The room was clean and a reasonable size (comparable to other 3-star European hotels) and had a large sized bathroom (comparable to 3-star American hotels). The breakfast (included) was great with many hot and cold items from which to choose. The lobby had 3 comfortable sitting areas and the friendly-staffed front desk included a reasonably priced bar that was open throughout the day. The looby also had free hi-speed wi-fi (much appreciated). Our room included an hour-long canal/harbor boat tour for a small surcharge. It was the highlight of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning to Copenhagen.

“Strand Copenhagen”

Basic guest services, no airport shuttle service. Metro station is <10 minute walk (closer than train station) metro trains run every 5 minutes most of the day. Very good complimentary breakfast, easy walk to city center and canals. Good deal for the money.

Area recommendations

If you don't mind walking, the Strand is within walking distance of most city features including Tivoli. Like most Scandanivian places we visited, handicaped access in the city is not very good.

“Comfortable hotel near Nyhavn”

The Strand Hotel is very well located, along the main canal, two blocks from beautiful Nyhavn, the awesome National Library's modern addition and the fun pedestrian streets. The concierge service was very friendly all the time, the breakfast buffet was varied and tasty, and the room was comfortable even though it was a bit small if you have two or more large suitcases. It's hard to find a problem, really -I did not.

Area recommendations

Vesterbro for its fun concentration of cool restaurants and bars in a former factory. Pate Pate was especially and very friendly. Bear in mind that in Denmark, restaurants stop taking orders at 11:00 pm on the dot, which may seem late enough, but not really when there is so much light in late Junethat it's easy to think it's much earlier.

Must see

Explore all floors of "den sorte diamanten" (The Black Diamond), the wonderful modern, granite, metal and glass wing of the National Library for great architectrure and views of the canal though the glass.

“A nice surprise”

“Gracious hotel, clean and inviting.”

Great hotel and excellent location. Front desk staff was helpful with one exception. The young man who assisted us on departure was rude and uninterested in assisting us. Other than that they were great! We had a deluxe standard and it was more than adequate. Great morning buffett. I'd use it again anytime.

“a very pleasant stay”

overall, nice stay. Excellent location, very friendly staff, comfortable clean room. No safe in the room, have to pay for box at front desk, Room was quiet. Basic but satisfactory room. Would stay again and do recommend.

“Excellent location”

Great location, close to everything. Hotel staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms are a bit small but you should expect that in Europe especially in a building built in 1824.

“Great location”

The breakfast was great. The location was in a great place. We were all around happy with the hotel. We were unable to print the boarding passes.

Area recommendations

Go to Trivoli, and look at the statues around the city. WE really spent our time in Odense, Fyn, Denmark.

Don't go in August it rains But not to long.

Getting around

We walked most of the town and that was just fine. We see more by walking.
