“Good Place to Stay, but Room Quality Varied”
Stayed at Hotel G twice: one night in late July, 3 nights in early August. The room was actually a 4 room suite: kitchen, living/dining room, bedroom, and bathroom - very large and spacious with plenty of natural light in the bedroom and living/dining room through the large windows, giving the rooms a very airy ambiance. Stay in July: room was immaculate, air conditioning worked well, telephone system in hotel was inoperable. Stay in August: baseboards were dusty, air conditioner did not seem to work properly, shower constantly dripped. A sign at the front desk indicated that the current owner(s) had recently purchased the property, and improvements/renovations/repairs were being made on a room-by-room basis. On both stays, the breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of very good tasting food. The bathrooms had black marble floors which were heated - felt very good on one's bare feet. Bedding was very comfortable. Hotel staff was very courteous and attentive to my needs. They were able to very promptly summon taxi cabs for our party. Even with the minor problems encountered during the August stay, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Great Value”
This hotel was a great value. We were able to comfortably sleep four adults in each room. It is conveniently located proximate to Tivoli Gardens and the city Square and the train stations (about a comfortable three block walk). It was a great find and I'd stay there again with a group of any size (we had 14 in our group).
“Very Pleased”
Hotel G was close to the action in Copenhagen. We easily walked to the city hall and to Tivoli. Tourist transportation was easy from those spots. The hotel was comfortable with a small two room suite. The shower was a bit odd but functional. The included breakfast was fantasitc and greatly increased the value of the room in an expensive-to-eat city. Television didn't function well but free internet access was a major plus. Staff was very helpful. All in all a good experience.
“Nice hotel!”
Great breakfast, Convenient location for train to city center in 15 minutes. We would stay again.
“Not bad to stay near centrum.”
Convenient location to centrum. 15 mins to City hall along H.Andersen rd. where you go everywhere, 30 mins to Botanic garden of Univ. Copenhagen along the river, and 15 mins to Central station if you know direct way to get there, by walk with baby trolley. Although I know hotel is not very far from Copenhagen H, central station by walk, I took a taxi from Copenhagen airport. Cost about DKK300+/- depends on traffic and weekend rate. My room has equipment of kettle and microwave. No heating ovens or so. Rooms are clean with two rooms, one bed room and one guest room together with dining table/kitchen Bad: Shower booth door was broken, bed room lights were totally out of order and guest room bed was broken which were not a big complaint for me anyway. Good: Expeida prepaid, check in 1 min. No credit card asked. Free wifi. Tips. Don't change Euro/Dollar to DKK in city center. Don't believe no commission or minimum DKK 45. It's MINIMUM if you change like 1.000 euro? Maybe better if you use Danish bank withdrawal if you have EURO Bank card or change in your home country where you know what you can expect. My Settlement Receipt said for 100 euro, exchange rate DKK715(Sign said DKK755 but it's they sell Euro to you, don't think you can sell to them.) Service Fee/tax 12.99% and sub total I receive DKK 622.12. And they didn't give 0.12 anyway. DKK 93.12 charged for exchanging. Most store you can use EURO PIN or credit card, but you need cash anyway for STEFF hotdogs.
“Decent hotel, cleanIng crew could do a better jobh”
Well located and decently appointed, with courteous staff. Cleaning crew did not clean well the apartment, cheap toiletries and the lack of a gym make the hotel loose points.
“Maybe after the bankruptcy settles in.”
Hotel just went through bankruptcy. Nice staff, but there are lots of small (and not so small problems). Comfortable suite, and the full kitchen was nice. Telephone and TV did not work. Only (very) hot water in the bathroom sink, so impossible to brush teeth. Only general purpose liquid soap on attached to the the bathroom and shower wall (i.e. no shampoo, no bar soap). Breakfast was minimalist, but adequate. Two single beds pushed together constituted the "king" bed, but somehow comfortable enough. Free Internet only worked in the lobby, but I was able to use some random router in my room, likely from a nearby residential neighbor.
“So So”
G was different, the Staff was nice and helpful, breakfast was good, bed was comfortable, location was good. Cleaning staff didn't do very good in the room or halls.
“Very unfriendly staff”
The overall comfort of the hotel was good. Given the fact that Copenhagen is a pretty expensive city you can stay here for a reasonable price. The rooms are bright and fairly comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern (however with a bad smell that did not subside our whole stay - 2 days). The breakfast buffet is ok. I am not sure what the standards are in Denmark but compared to American standards you will be satisfied ;) Unfortunatelety our stay was overshadowed by a very unfriendly front desk clerk. He did not seem to care much about our needs, could not (or did not want to it seemed like) answer our questions. He was the first impression we got from the hotel and that was not a good thing...
“I would not stay here again”
We stayed in 5 different hotels in this trip to Scandinavia. Paid about the same rate and this one is the worst. There are 2 rooms but each one is only 6 inches wider than the length of the bed. It has a kitchenette but no coffee or tea provided. No air conditioning or fan. Breakfast buffet is okay. Staff is friendly but not very helpful. No maps or tourist brochures whatsoever. Finally, the short curtains. Windows are floor to ceiling with the bottom 3 feet frosted. The bottom of the curtain does not meet the top of the frosted glass; therefore, letting the bright sun in to the room at 5 am right on our eyes. It also makes the room quite warm. The windows can be opened but then you'd have to tolerate the noise as the hotel is on a 10 lane road.
