Charmed by CopenhagenPosted Nov 3, 2013
We spent three nights in Copenhagen. The fact that we spent the entire time in the city should serve to reflect the impression it made. The character of the city, the hearty fayre and the warmth of the people helped us to overlook the only downside, the price of things. That said, hotel fox was excellent value, with its location, quirky rooms, sunny staff and a mean gin from the lobby bar. R

Theme rooms, city centerPosted Oct 27, 2013
Very helpful friendly staff, unique theme rooms, room cleaned everyday, short walk to city center and public transport (5-10min). Will definitely stay again.

Appalling from the outside, no better inside.Posted Oct 10, 2013
Cons: Complete top to bottom refurbishment
Location: Reasonably good central location
Staff very helpful and friendly. However, the glass panel on the front door had been smashed some time ago and repaired with tape and this sets the stage throughout the hotel. Worst hotel by far that I have stayed at in 40 years of travelling all over the world. Bedroom was completely user unfriendly, no light switch near the bed. A huge bed in a tiny room with no adequate facilities to hang clothes. In the early morning the bathroom smelled of foul drains coming up through the floor drain. Decoration of the room as close on disgusting with the floor and walls coverd in scuffs and damaged paintwork.

Would not recommend this hotelPosted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was good but expensive.
Cons: They should renovate the rooms
Location: Good location
The room was really old but clean. The carpet was stained like I have never seen before. They could not even give us another room for the first night. I would not recommend this hotel.

Tatty & DepressingPosted Sep 11, 2013
Cons: Total Refurbishment
We booked & paid in advance for a 6 days stay in hotel Fox. We ordered a superior room with a king size bed. All an all we stayed in the hotel 40 minutes & run for our lives. Entering into the hotel we were faced with 2 chipped large steps. In the reception a cheerful girl said that we were allocated a large room, “very nice”, The Suisse Room. We got the key & squeezed into a tiny elevator. Getting out of the elevator the corridor smelt of heavy damp. We opened the room’s door where the smell of damp followed us & could not believe our eyes. The room was dark & looked as if it was decorated by an adolescents’ on acid. The walls were painted blue & decorated with a primitive child like, so called Swiss scenery drawing, in black. They had some sheep, again in black, even the girl pained (presumably Haidi) was painted in black & had black hair. The bed was a cheap, bitten pine bed; there was no wardrobe to hang your cloth. On the wall horns were fitted to be used as hooks. Most of these horns were almost falling, hanging on their side. The room was dark, tatty, depressing. We came into the hotel cheerful & Joyce, ready for a great vacation & within 20 minutes in Fox hotel we got depressed. Luckily we don’t have suicidal tendencies. The only good thing we can say about the hotel is that the manager immediately understood our position (I presume it happened to him before), ordered a taxi & transferred us to another hotel within the group.

Don't build a new hotel, improve this onePosted Sep 10, 2013
Cons: The smell and the damp
Location: Great location. 5 mins from metro, 5A and 6A bus, easy walk to fantastic locations in Copenhagen. We loved the city, but not this hotel.
This hotel is overdue a revamp. And signs apologising for the building work next door rubbed salt into the wound.

Great conceptPosted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved the concept of the hotel, the individually designed rooms and the dining/reception area. It is now in the process of renovation and it would be good if the design theme could be continued and updated by fresh talent to give new designers a great start. The bed was very comfortable with fresh clean bedding, the bathroom was perfect. Unfortunately the carpet had seen better days and should have been replaced long ago. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A tip for the refurbishment - please build ergonomics into the design - chairs with back support would be great. We loved it and hope to be back soon.

Nice place, fun design but a bit oldPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Location General design in particular the lobby / bar / breakfast room Direct bus to airport Bike rental
Cons: Bike rental for a few hours only
The room was nice, even though we didn't like the deco at all. It didn't matter, since we knew it was made by a designer who had his own style. It was still fun. All the rooms are decorated differently, we just happened to have large stickers of trucks on the wall and a dinosaure. The room was clean and comfortable. However, don't stay there if you need total quietness. It's on a main street with a restaurant downstairs and it was quite noisy on Saturday night. However it's very well located, with a direct bus to the airport and walking distance from all areas of the old town. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, except for the lady boss whos is not very friendly or accomodating. They rent bikes, which is super convenient. However, it's only for the day. They didn't want to rent one for 2 hours, therefore it was very expensive for a short bikeride.

Needs a lot of attentionPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
I loved the idea of the botique style hotel and was very excited about our stay, I was bitterly dissapointed :-( Reception area was pleasant, staff seemed a little 'too busy' and pre-occupied. The room was dirty, power sockets were hanging loose from walls, shower was filthy and the curtain rail was rusty. There's also a very bad smell in the corridoors and bedrooms. Nice location but needs immediate attention to improve the hotels bedrooms. Definately not worth the money I paid.
