“Beautiful Hotel, Comfy Beds, Excellent Service”
After being on a cruise for an entire week, we were hoping to get to a nice comfortable and intimate location. This hotel had it all. Although it was a little further from the center of the city, the walk to the metro took 5 minutes, and the extra comfortable beds and excelent service made up for the walk. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone looking for a classic hotel with superb service. Definitely would go back.
“Loved being along the lake!”
We loved walking to and from the hotel by the lake. It was so peaceful. The swans were beautiful on the lake. We walked from a soccer game and just about every where else. The lhotle was quiet and had crisp, fresh linens. We were close enough to walk everywhere without being in noisy conjestion. Sushitarian was a great close restourant!
“good for business”
nice clean room adn comfortable bed. european shower uses bathroom floor which has a drain in it. creates a very wet bathroom limiting use after one takes a shower. not a fan of this design.
“Nice, quiet, small hotel”
Very friendly staff. Clean, but small room; no AC although this wasn't really necessary (unless staying in room during the day in the summer). Good location, on a canal, just a few blocks from the main old city area.
“Idiosyncracy in Copenhagen”
This is not your standard chain hotel. In several connected buildings dating from 1832, the location is north of the centre, across from one of the man-made lakes, about a fifteen-minute walk from the City Hall Square and the Stroget. The street in front of the hotel is busy, but we had a quiet room on the interior courtyard. The room was on the small side, but well equipped; the bathroom was spacious. Leak under the sink was promptly fixed. Free ethernet connection in the room. The breakfast in the lovely courtyard restaurant was excellent, if a bit expensive (that's Copenhagen; the hotel was good value). The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Special thanks to Peder and Frederik
“Great staff and service but awful smell”
The staff and service was excellent. Internet connection was free. The rooms were nicely furnished. The rooms are not air conditioned. Unfortunately the bathroom smelled like a sewer.
“What a shame!”
This hotel has potential but it's a disaster. There is NO baggage service and all room rooms require at least two flights of stairs. There are elevators but only after you go up one flight of stairs and down another flight. Our very expensive suite offered no air conditioning and the bedroom was an upstairs loft with no ventilation. It was too hot too sleep even though it was only 76 outside. The shower is in the middle of the bathroom (a better description is that the sink and toilet are in the middle of the shower with no shelves or compartments for toiletries. Great location but otherwise a disaster!
“Large Clean, Rooms. No Air”
We wanted a hotel a bit out of the way but still in town. They let us check-in very early which was great. There is some strange system to turn the lights off and on (not the usual room key). The main switch had to flipped a few times in the hallway. We were on the 4th floor so it was hot (no AC) I asked for a fan but they didn't have any more. On Saturday evening there was a huge rave-like party on the roof of building next door (live DJ, speakers etc). We couldn't call the front desk to complain as the phone batteries were dead. We got new batteries but the phone was dead again on Monday morning so I missed my wake-up call. Breakfast is not included and is expensive for what you get. There are stairs so this isn't the right place for strollers, wheelchairs, or lots of luggage. The staff was very helpful by providing local information. Realistically the party was a one-time thing. I think that overall if it's not hot then this hotel is a good choice.
“Very good hotel”
Hotel desk staff is not well informed about nearby restaurants and other facilities but the hotel is otherwise outstanding.
“exellent hotel for the price”
nice newly extended and renovated since i stayed there last time. very convenient within walking distance of all of central copenhagen next to the beautiful lakes. breakfast is top class but should have been included in the price.
