A good, well locationed hotelPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: It's location and friendliness of staff.
Cons: More storage space in the rooms.
Location: There are some great cafes and restaurants nearby but the best in our opinion was Bibendum. Tiny but great atmosphere and fantastic food and wine.
Anyone who knows Copenhagen knows it can be quite an expensive city so to find a nice hotel at a reasonable price in a central location is a bonus. The Ibsen is such a hotel. The rooms are functional but they're also clean and big enough. The staff were very helpful and its closeness to some great cafes and restaurants, as well as 10 minutes walk into the centre and 3 minutes walk to the Norreport Metro mean it has plenty of plus points. The latter point is well worth noting. We took the taxi from the airport (circa DKK 350) and the Metro back to the airport (DKK 36 each). The Metro also took less than 20 minutes.

Perfect locationPosted Nov 3, 2013
Location: Great bar on opposite corner with great food. Halifax burger resturant was great too. Big highlight for us was the covered food market near metro.
Close enough to great bars, cafes, shops and the metro. But just off the main road, so not too noisy. Clean and lovely Danish-designed furniture and soft furnishings. Polite, welcoming, English speaking staff. Really happy with the hotel and would definately book again

Nice hotel near city centrePosted Nov 2, 2013
Lovely clean friendly hotel.we had a room on 6th floor only problem was the sloping ceilings which we often banged our heads on! Great location 5-10 min walk to city centre. Small bathroom but not a problem. Our room faced the courtyard but was quiet, never heard any noise.Would definitely stay there again!

Lovely, stylish hotel in a great locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The staff, room, design were all great, as described above.
Cons: The lift was being repaired, so that's all I can think of.
Location: The location is terrific, very central. We went to all the normal touristy things; Rosenborg castle, the round tower, little mermaid, Tivoli etc.
I came here with my girlfriend for a weekend away. I loved the city and Ibsens was the perfect base. We didn't even use the transport network because we could walk everywhere, so we got a nice feel for the city. The hotel itself was really great - the staff were really friendly and the design was very Scandanavian chic. We booked an Exra Large room and it was massive, as well as very well equipped. Couldn't have asked for anything more from the hotel - they even made going to Halloween Tivoli easy by selling advanced tickets at reception so we could avoid queues. Terrific break, due to both the city and the hotel.

Nice hotel. Good locationPosted Oct 10, 2013
On trip advisor the map shows the hotel right next to central station. We followed this, and couldn't find it. Turns out it was a short s train ride away... This was very annoying, but turned out we were in a good location near good restaurants and an amazing market. Just be careful you're going to the right place!! Rooms were clean and a good size. With a couple of nice restaurants on site too. Easy connection to the airport by metro, and to all attractions by train or bus. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A cool hotel close to city centre and the metroPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: It didn't feel like a 'chain hotel' it had a family feel to it and we liked its quirkiness.
Location: The area around the hotel has something for all being close to the botanic gardens, the Rosenborg Place, the national gallery and the Workers Museum.
We liked the relaxed Danish design furniture and lighting in our room and throughout the hotel and the breakfasts are wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and we'd certainly stay there again. We did have a bit of a surprise coming back to our room after our first day to find that everything had been removed and our room was full of boxes as the floor was being refurbished following a burst pipe the week before. However they provided us with a room upgrade and a complimentary breakfast. They had moved all of our belongings to the new room - even placing them in exactly the same position as we had left them - good job we'd left things tidy. It was all beautifully handled and the customer service was excellent. The location of the hotel was good for us as it was a short walk to the city centre and very close to the metro and local train hub. The food market on Israels Plads provides plenty of food and drink for all tastes and the cafe and bar across the road from the hotel is great place for a beer and a snack.

Great Location, Charming Room!Posted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff-all English Speaking. Location near Norreport station convenient for metro and train. Israel plads nearly great for pastries and coffee
Cons: Corridors and lift/ lift lobby looked a bit tired.
Location: Israel Plads was like Copenhagens answer to borough market with fresh food coffee and pastries. Rosenborg Palace, Botanical Gardens, Kongenshavn
A very good base for exploring Copenhagen and beyond! Nothing was too far away and the hotel was pleasant to be in with an arty lobby and friendly staff. Breakfast was good as was the tapas bar connected to the hotel. Service was a bit frostier in the italian restaurant. The room was very good with a huge tv! Although the hotel is a nineteenth century building the furnishing was bright and modern with a high standard of cleanliness. Would visit again!
