Perfect Location

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Staff, food, convenient location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Tivolli Gardens, walking around city, Little Mermaid, Art Musuems, Boat tours,
Using the Marriott as a starting point for our Baltic Cruise was perfect.. It is within walking distance to Tivoli Gardens ( a must see) and a walking tour of this beautiful city. Our room was fine ( we were only there one night) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast ( a charge) was great. We were able to leave our suitcases there after we checked out so that we could walk around the city a little more. They even called a van for our large party so that it would be easier for our trip to the port and the van driver was nice enough to stop at the Little Mermaid statue for a few minutes. My only suggestion is to be sure to leave enough time from the hotel to the Port( at least 45 minutes) - Norwegian is docked at the farthest point of the cruise dock.

Very ordinary hotel

Marriott Copenhagen was just OK, a little disappointing for a so called quality hotel however Expedia also booked the Grand Hotel Stockholm for us. I booked a harbour view, superior room for 2 nights but found that the booking was for a courtyard view and I had to pay an extra SK2,000 to upgrade to harbour view. My experience with Expedia was poor and I am sure that I can do better booking hotels directly in future. Michael Sanders

Overpriced and a long walk to town

Posted Jun 22, 2014
I was very disappointed that Executive lounge was always full & noisy while the main dining room was incredibly noisy every time I used it. No swimming pool & overall not as good as I had expected

Central location on the water.

Great stay. I told them it was my wife's 50th birthday and asked for water view. They duly delivered and left a bottle of ice cold champagne in the room for our arrival. Nice touch. We were on executive floor with excellent view. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Executive club lounge quite busy but very convenient.

excellent position over the canal and boardwalk

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: The new canal side developments have brought the Hotel more into the City. The Hotel experience is better for the boardwalks - and to swim.
Cons: nil
Location: as above
We had a disappointing experience in being denied access to the restaurant, when there were many tables empty. If there was a problem with service, I would rather wait in the dining room than being told to come back later. I knew there were many empty tables , because I went in and looked. RJD

Very good location and view

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Location Amazing views over the river
Cons: Less people able to access the Executive Floor
Location: Great shopping a short walk away
Really enjoyed the city and great restaurants which are within walking distance There are lots of bicycles as most people get around town this way so you need to watch where you are walking.

Great hotel, great location

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: The room was wonderful, a corner room with Windows on both sides, looking out over the canal.
Cons: The evening staff in the restaurant were quite snooty. We came in for coffee and dessert, they ignored us completely, and we walked out after 20 min.
Loved the hotel, located right on the main canal. Easy walking distance to Tivoli Gardens, the Stroget shopping streets, and many of the muséums.

Good location

The hotel is within easy walking distance to the City Center, which includes the train station. The hotel is modern, and situated on the water. The restaurant and bar have lovely water views. We we were able to see Tivoli from the window of our room. The staff are friendly and helpful, and speak English.

A nice hotel, but not 5 star quality

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: View over water, cleanliness, free mini bar and wi-fi (in Executive Room)
Cons: The bed-making, the room service menu (more choice and some lighter options when you are eating late) and the bathroom products.
Location: Location was not bad - a walk to most places of interest - but Copenhagen is a great city to walk in. Central Station is not far.
Hotel was pleasant, but would have expected more luxury for a 5 star hotel. We had an Executive Room with a great view over the water. Although the beds were comfortable, they where poorly made - very lumpy; and the bath products were pretty poor (again - not what one would expect for a 5 star hotel). When we arrived in the room it smelled of smoke - we suspect it might have been that the cleaner was a smoker and the smell lingered. The staff were nice enough and helpful. The restaurant was OK - breakfast, expensive for what it is and the breakfast room is like a zoo in the mornings. Dinner menu is good. Location worked out well for us, but be prepared to walk - places of interest are not on the doorstop - so this may discourage some people. Being in an Executive Room, wi-fi and the mini bar was free (both are knocked off your bill at checkout) - so fill your boots.
