“Comfy and conveinent”
Great location to city centre restaurants bars and shops and canal side restaurants.
“Very nice”
The location is excellent, close to the touristy Nyhavn (but it was not noisy at all) and also 5 minutes walk from the metro which goes to the airport in 15 minutes. The hotel is very nice, the staff is very helpful and everything is very clean. The room was a bit small, that is the only complain. All in all, highly recommended!
“First visit to Copenhagen”
This is a great city to visit. Everyone is friendly, there are lots of places to visit and it's possible to visit Sweden very easily too. The Hotel is well placed, only a 10 minute walk away from a street full of restaurants and bars and also, importantly, the Metro which takes you right to the airport. My only complaints were that the single room is really a single bed in a small room, no coffee making facility and that the showerhead was bunged up due to poor maintenance. The staff were friendly, helpful and all spoke good English. I would visit this hotel again, but pay more for a bigger room.
“excellent but expensive”
Great hotel, nice polite and professional staff. Centrally located and within walking distance of the shopping area. Expensive, but then Copenhagen is expensive....
“The Phoenix”
Although the lobby fountain sported a pair of rubber duckies, the original art work dating from the 1800's which was hanging on the walls were absolutely beautiful. The hotel staff were very friendly and all spoke English fluently. The rooms were large for European standards and nicely furnished with old world charm. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner as none was supplied by the hotel. Bikes can be rented through the hotel, although it was a little pricey at $30/day....very popular way to see Copenhagen. The hotel is nicely located and walking distance to the trendy canal street, walking street, the royal palace and much more. Umbrella's were also supplied by the hotel.
“Great Location, Good Service”
My husband and I stayed at the Phoenix to attend a wedding in Hellerup and run in the Copenhagen Marathon. The location was fantastic. We were able to take the Metro from the airport, it was easy to find. Nyhavn was close by, and 5 minute walking distance to the Stroget, Kastellet and other local sights. There's a Netto small grocery around the corner. Tivoli was about a 25 minute walk, and it was a 5 minute walk to the Kings Gardens and Roseburg Castle. The hotel itself is small and in a quiet neighborhood. It has a nice unattended interior courtyard where we read and had coffee and drinks. Our room was clean if small as most European hotels are. Ours could have used a little maintenance (a little peeling wallpaper and water stains here and there) but nothing that detracted from our stay. There was a minibar that we were able to use for our own drinks and snacks, which was nice to have. Room service was responsive and the coffee was excellent. The lobby has internet terminals with a printer that was convenient for getting tickets, directions to local sights and checking email. One note, we ran out of cash (Denmark can be expensive), and our ATM card didn't work. We hoped to cash a check at the front desk, however, they weren't able to help us. So make sure you have plenty of kroner! We got an attractive combined flight/hotel rate (thanks Expedia) and would stay here again.
“Value for money. Good location within walking distance of all favourite tourist areas in the CBD”
Clean and convenient location. Rooms small for those used to American and Australian sizes and facilities, but remains value for money in Europe. Located in a street of art and antique shops, currently with roadwork associated with subway construction. But little noticeable street noise. Recommended as close to Nyhavn boats, bars and cafes).
“nice hotel”
Nice hotel, near Nyhavn, which is great and Amalienborg. Free internet in the hotel lobby. The room was nice and clean, on the smallish side, which was fine for just me. i would recommend it.
