“very nice stay”

Location is excellent! I did not need the lift, but my friends did and it was not working. They use an old lift that is scary! The hotel staff was excellent and helpful. I would stay there again.

“Moderate cost, great location”

There's nothing fancy about this hotel, but it's clean, comfortable, friendly, and centrally located. While we were there last year my husband became ill and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Just stayed there a second time and the desk clerk remembered my face! I'll stay again if ever in Copenhagen.

Area recommendations
Area near central station, where this hotel is located, is close to transportation, the attractive "old town" and Tivoli amusement park.

“great staff”

Good location, room was fine, and the staff was excellent. Problem was the elevator had been flooded and was out of service and we had to use an antequated one that didn't always function well. Nevertheless I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Happy in Copenhagen”

We were quite satisfied with our stay at the Savoy. Although the modern elevator wasn't working due to damage in a recent storm, the antique lift did provide the service to our floor. When we had a minor problem with it, a charming hotel maid found the solution. The front desk attendants were all very helpful with our questions about the free customer computer use, calling for a taxi, and providing info about the location of a nearby ATM. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory with cereals, breads, cheese, ham, fruit and yogurt. I do wish the hotel had provided washcloths as well as towels for our room and the room carpet could have been cleaner. The room temperature was comfortable, but the duvet took some getting used to. The hotel was quiet and smoke-free on our floor, as we requested.

Area recommendations
The neighborhood of the Savoy Hotel was fine....shops, restaurants, near Tivoli and Town Hall (20 minute walk). Another nice up-scale neighborhood is near Frederiksberg Havn with its lovely garden area.
Getting around
Use the Hop on, Hop off buses.
Dining
Very pricey and "sharing" meals as in the U.S. is frowned upon. For less expensive choices, try the hot dog carts and the lunch counter in the large department stores on the pedestrian streets.

“Very spartan by US standards”

This hotel was very well positioned and had a good breakfast but that's it. The room was small and basic. Absolutely none of that Danish design we have heard about. It was clean but a bit shabby. The front desk was helpful and the hotel had free umbrellas for use. The breakfast was very nice.

Area recommendations
This hotel is quite close to Tivoli Gardens and the train station.

“Simple, no-frills hotel in great location”

Nothing fancy about this hotel but it was clean, offered free wifi & breakfast and was in a great location so we found it to be a very good value. Staff were all very helpful. Just a 5 minute walk to the train station and Tivoli. We really liked walking along the canal which is just one block behind the hotel and around the surrounding neighborhood (direction opposite Tivoli), which has many nice little shops, cafes and restaurants.

“Great Location and Front Desk”

The hotel is easy 10 minute walk from the Central Train Station. You can take the train from the Airport to the Central Train Station for about $10.00. Vilma from the hotel wrote me excellent directions and Im a 72 yr old single lady traveling alone. Christian at the front desk was also helpful. The room was exactly what I expected. Small, but clean. The Location was perfect for my tastes. Price was right. Nice breakfast included.

Area recommendations
Copenhagen is expensive. There is an all you can eat pizza and salad place near the Central Station. It was good and price was reasonable for Copenhagen. Taxi from the Hotel to the Cruise Pier was about 150 DKK.

“Helpful staff”

The front desk personnel were extremely helpful when my husband developed a medical problem. They helped us locate and get to an urgent care facility and then let us stay three hours beyond checkout time, without extra charge. The room was bright and cheerful and the location near the train station is quite convenient.
