Quiet beachfront retreat

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Location - just yards away from the water. Peace & quiet matched with a fresh breeze. Friendly staff.
Cons: A bit of maintenance (replacing light-bulbs, fan in the master bedroom not working, mesh on the screen door missing, some screws protruding etc.)
Location: Nothing but beach nearby. About 20 mins drive to Nassau Downtown, or the Old Fort, or any of the other main attractions.
If you're looking for 5 star luxury, restaurants and night life, this is not for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking for absolute beach-front, simple accommodation with peace and quiet and a family-friendly atmosphere, you're in luck. The Coral Harbour Beach House and Villas is a small complex on the south-west coast of Nassau Island. It has a beach house just a few yards from the water, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen and dining room plus a mosquito-netted verandah and porch with steps onto the beach. It was extremely comfortable and spacious. There are plenty of hammocks and beach chairs to relax in, with shade provided by lovely pines (which drop not-so-lovely small pine cones that are painful to step on - bring some flip-flops). The Sand Bar is quiet and pleasant, with a few locals who drop in nightly for a drink. The restaurant has a nice deck, and a small selection of local dishes (BBQ ribs, pork, fish steamed or fried). If you're staying for more than a few days, I'd recommend you hire a car (the hotel has older models they'll rent for $60/day) so you can explore and buy supplies - as there's no store or restaurant other than the one inside the premises within walking distance. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating - for the most part.

From Tent to Beach Hammock - Ahh Yes

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: The remoteness and the staff!
Cons: It needs some work. The facility is aged and the grounds need some loving care.
Location: Stayed three days, as it was near the airport. Told shopping for grocieries and essentials about 10 minutes away by car.
Arrived from a month at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram where a pup tent was my home and a disciplined day of meditation, chanting, lectures a five-six hours of Karmas Yoga was the routine. The resort, small and needing some TLC, was just what I needed and the staff were wonderful, greeting me by name and providing me with the best room in the resort for 2 of the 3 days of my stay. It is remote but facilities include a wee bar, a breakfast room, which was self serve but totally lovely, and a restaurant with a limited menu and a chef, who is doing his best with a tiny cooking space and lots of enthusiasm. Go for quiet and reflection. I took up residence on the beach front hammock and was able to do tiny walks on the tiny beach and swim in the small clean water - beach isn't perfection but the sunrises and sunsets awesome - you'll leave refreshed for having stepped off the beaten/busy hustle and bustle.

OK hotel, needs to be painted & better maintained

Posted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: the beach house had pretty good furniture outside of the small TV in the living room with no working control
Cons: gate needs to be fixed, bigger TV in the front room, cut down the drive way so that parking for sports car is not a hassle, painting...
Location: You're going there to enjoy the beach but they have a pool table, bar and restaurant..the breakfast is OK..nothing spectacular

Peace and quiet on the beach

Posted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: It is very clean. There is daily housekeeping. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is right on the beach. Great for kids.
Location: Only 15 minutes (drive) away from airport. Very quiet area. Need a car to get around.
There was hardly anyone on the beach daily. Food is good. There is a grocery store 15/20 minutes (walk) back towards the airport if you wish to cook. There is a small strip (mall) 30/35 minutes (walk) back towards the airport direction. There is a dominoes pizza there. They also deliver. Good to get a car for a couple days if you are not a walker. They drive on the LEFT.

Private beach getaway

Posted Jul 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
This resort has a staff that is very friendly and will do anything for you....you just need to ask if there is something you need. The beach villa is great. The water is literally a few feet from your door. We went in July which must be the slow season in the Bahamas. It seemed like we had the whole resort to ourselves. Two restaurants on property had surprisingly good food at reasonable prices. Must try the grouper fingers!

Quiet anniversary getaway

Posted Jun 22, 2013
Pros: Hammocks! True "island" charm. Great staff! Very nice owners. Most of all...peace and quiet!
Cons: A few more utensils in the unit kitchen. Mattress was not as comfortable as we would have liked.
Location: Short drive from airport, recommend rental car. Did not partake in nearby activities, other than driving to town for dinner/shopping.
We stayed for a week & loved every minute of it. We wanted a quiet secluded place to stay to recharge/reconnect & we got exactly that. In fact, on our anniversary, we sat on the beach & saw only 4-5 people all day! We rented a car (recommended if you wish to venture into town, just be sure to remember to stay left!) so that we could visit friends, go out to eat, & shop at our convenience. There isn't much within walking distance, but that suited us perfectly. If you are looking for a big resort atmosphere, this is not the place for you. The property was very clean, housekeeping was offered every day & beach towels were available on request. WiFi is pretty strong, but only in the office/bar/breakfast area...not a problem since we were there for the beach anyway. We had a ground floor unit with king bed. New tile/paint throughout, as well as what seemed to be a brand new fridge & microwave. The kitchen, while sparsely appointed, was enough for us to be able to fix lunch daily. Complimentary breakfast served from 7-10 am daily. Food at the restaurant was good & prices in line with the rest of the island. The bar was open all day (Beverly makes a mean Bahama Mama!).The staff of this family owned property was great! They were very friendly & really made us feel at home. In fact, Mr. Johnson & Vanessa stopped their car and got out to hug goodbye as we were checking out! He said "Come as a guest but leave as family." & that is how we felt. We will definitely return!

Great location. Nice hotel, with a private beach.

Posted Jun 17, 2013
Pros: Close to the airport and very quite and pure environment. Great service. Judy and Vanessa are so pleasant. Felt like family.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: You can drive to near by National park, or to downtown. If you can rent a car, you can go to Paradise Island and spend the whole day there.
Hideaway from a busy life. Nicely situated with a bar and a food court. Drinks are chilled. Staff is very accommodating. They go an extra mile to help with your wishes. It is not crowded like downtown hotels. The beach is clean with a very clear ocean water. When you open your eyes in the morning and see the ocean and a palm tree with coconuts you feel like you are in paradise. Breath taking view. We are coming back for sure. One more thing to mention: it is only 15 minutes from the airport. We had hot breakfast, swam, took a shower and than headed to the airport.

Endless Summer

Posted Jun 4, 2013
Location: It's far from the crowds, which for me is perfect.
My favorite vacation spot, with a professional yet very friendly staff. Management frequently asks if everything is ok-but in my case it always is. The bar is convenient and the service and food are excellent. Glenn
