Quiet stay in peaceful villagePosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: The friendliness of the owners, the breakfast, the location, the house, the bed.
Cons: I can see some people being concerned about the free roaming dog (especially at breakfast), but I found her adorable.
Location: Roman ruins nearby, a couple of excellent Indian restaurants.
We arrived quite late to this little B&B and it took a little while to find it in the dark but we were met gracefully by the owner and told that if we required fresh milk, we need only ask! The breakfast was gorgeous and made to our tastes and the room was large and comfortable. We were only there for one night as part of a longer road trip but I would definitely stop here again if I were to come this way again.

Private house. Welcoming hosts.Posted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Breakfast, room, dog.
Cons: Hard to find.
Location: Sort drive to Hadrians Wall. Food and hotels in nearby Corbridge very good.
Hard to find, but nice house in pleasant gardens and surrounds, mile or so from town. Welcomed by host with a cup of tea and chat. Loved the dog! Good breakfast.

Not impressedPosted Oct 23, 2011
Location: Hadrians wall close by - great walking
Difficult to locate due to inadequate signage and village is only small and locals did not know where it was, took us an hour to find. Owners not home Until layer that night. this is not a hotel it is a B&B in a family home. Felt the sitting room too cluttered and no mention of free wi fi in welcome pack, so could not plan for following days activities and travels. Room was lovely, with a nice view, clean and comfortable. breakfast was good, but because the owners had been away some breakfast food was out of date. Very expensive for what you got. a few changes and this could be lovely.

a light, comfortable, modern room in a large country house. Very friendly welcome from pleasant, hospitable hosts. Super breakfast to keep you going all day!
