From Corea, Bangor is about 45 miles (72 kilometers) to the northwest, and Portland is 120 miles (193 kilometers) to the southwest.
It's a missed chance if you limit yourself to the points of interest in Corea because the whole region is laced with numerous interesting sights and attractions. Interesting places within a relatively short distance of Corea are Ellsworth, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the east, and Southwest Harbor, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast.
Organise transportation and head out to Ellsworth, a transport and retail hub for the area, located about 19 miles (31 kilometers) away from Corea. The place offers a number of attractions, including Indian Point, Grand Theatre and Ellsworth Historical Society. Telephone Museum, Woodlawn Museum and Birdsacre Sanctuary are also good places to spend a little time.
If you need to escape the elements, you can't beat Acadia - North Coast's art galleries. These are good places to learn about the local lore and culture and perhaps pick up an unusual souvenir.
Have a break from seeing the sights and cool off with a spot of surfing or swimming.
